Want to know if I still got it

So took a break a while back I think June. Back then I was in par with the top tanks so I want to know if my gear is still at the top level. I think my GS was about almost 5.9. So is my gear still competitive with the top tanks? Does GS still play a big role in WoW and is 6k+ still rare and hard to get?

LOL - 4.0.1 changed a lot. Proper gearing in 3.3.5 may not be correct in 4.0.1

For example, because of the bonus armor your Twin Valk ring and Gargoyle Bracers used to be damn near BiS. Now, I doubt it, I bet there is realitively easy to get gear that is better.

And tank GS is always a bad measure. your 251 bracers were better than some 277 tank bracers in 3.3.5, and the 245 Valk ring and Ony rings are better than most 277 tanking rings in 3.3.5, so a higher gear score didn't mean properly geared. With armor stripped from gear, that may change very rapidly into grabbing the highest iLVL you can.

But 6k+ GS was no longer rare at the end of 3.3.5 - but it did not always mean properly geared either.
