Epic BoE gear
The last few days I've been grinding my Walrus and Giant reputations for my penguin pet and shoulder enchants. I've noticed that doing this has been netting me a few hundred gold a day.
I haven't bought any rep gear or any expensive enchants in a few weeks, so now I've got a lot of money burning on my character.
I know if you armory me you'll see that half my gear is unenchanted, but as soon as I see the guild enchanter I'll change that.
Anyways, I'm wondering if it's worth it to buy some of these BoE epics? Assuming I won't be raiding 25 man any time soon or regularly, is it worth it?
I've seen Signet of the Accord - Item - World of Warcraft for around 2k.
Ditto Inexorable Sabatons - Item - World of Warcraft
I've seen the Bracers of Dalaran's Parapets - Item - World of Warcraft from 3k to 5k with people in trade offering to trade a set of bracers for gold pretty regularly (gotta love high pop servers).
Also mats for Tempered Titansteel Helm - Item - World of Warcraft are under 1k, time to bite the bullet?
I think I know the answer... but whenever I look at the AH I can't help myself from browsing all those shiny purples.
If you can get a guildee to do xmutes for you, you can honestly get titan helm gem chants and everything for under 500 I think mine cost me 400 total by just buying mats off the ah to make the bars rather then buying the bars themselves I would get that first then go from there.
The titansteel helm is pretty good value for money, if you've got a lot to spend: the bracers are best in slot for a warrior and the ring is also very nice but you might also get the jewelcrafting ring as ring epic.
Get the boots only if you want to build a specialised blockrating set. And only if you already have quite a lot of pieces with blockrating.
I'd even say: get the shotgun first. For all the other slots there are a lot of other options, shotgun basically is the only option for your ranged slot.

Well I've had the shotgun for a while now. It's certainly a worthy purchase and would have been the first piece of gear I bought if I didn't have a friend who I was generous and farmed the mats.
I despise the cape because it's feral gear at heart. I guess there's nothing wrong with that, but I like having a defense buffer for gear swapping (I never want to go back to a defense trinket, not even repelling charge).
I've got my eye on the Signet... prices look good, the fact that it'll let me vendor Keystone is a plus ;-).
The purple helm... I know it's better than ASH for survivability, but I find myself wearing Ground Tremor the vast majority of the time.
I forgot all about the shoulders, if I see a pair for cheap, I'll definitely grab them.

I do agree that, if you are unlucky with drops and can't get your hands on one of those, the BoE bracers are a nice replacement.
I bought the Signet today: 1200g feels like a steal.
I've been unlucky with that, having only seen it drop once and getting outrolled on it =(. But now it's mine, and I think it pushes me over the expertise softcap as a tank.
The funny thing is, I'm Arms now and the Str and Expertise on it is better than on my dps ring (Iceforged Battle Ring - Item - World of Warcraft my dps gear is kinda trash).
The signet runs for 2k on my server, I would have bought it if our guild didnt have one drop the first 3 weeks in Sarth 10 =P.
The Tempered Titansteel Helm is absolutely amazing for how cheap you can get it or the ease of farming mats. If you dont have a Miner in your guild (I can't imagine this ever happening) that would do xmutes for you, spam trade and I sell mine for 20-30 g sometimes just because I'm not out there farming mats to sell the bars.
You could buy the Boots that drop in Naxx 25 but that depends on if you want to go after SBR and SBV or not. Someone in my guild just bought them for 800 gold the other day.
I haven't ever really looked at those shoulders because I've been lucky to nab T7 in my first Naxx 10.
And I wouldn't call the Bracers best in slot either, but they are up near the top.
And the JC Ring is very good, and I'm not sure why you would vendor the Keystone Greatring, its still up there in terms of mitigation and avoidance.
Some cursory math with the tanking formula's shows both deflection band and signet beat keystone in raw avoidance (although it's close and like I said cursory math).
Really, it's only edge is the armor at the expensive of any threat and a little avoidance. I'm not sure I value armor that much, but seeing just how expensive armor is on the item budget made me think twice about vendoring it.

I'm not hurting for bag space or gold (obviously), so I'll keep it around for when I need more EH.
I keep forgetting about the shoulders too, since they're rare. But, Patchwerk always drops that stupid caster cloak and for some reason I've never taken part in a Loatheb kill.
