Band of the Kirin Tor

What do (non druid) tanks think of Band of the Kirin Tor? It's a fact that it is not good for tanking. While it might be an upgrade for me for non-tanking dps, I'm not sure how long it will actually last given that I expect to blow through Naxx pretty quickly in 25-man.

Is a free Dalaran port worth ~8k gold and eventually take up a inventory spot?

What sort of things would you use an extra port for?

Right now I guess I'm thinking of not buying it. However, if I'm ever going to buy it, I'd like to buy it as soon as possible so I can get maximum use out of my investment.

I don't think I will be getting this ring for any of my toons. Sure, it would be nice to have an extra free port to Dalaran, but I imagine that I will just keep my hearthstone set there because if it is on cooldown, I can just "ghetto hearth," track down a friendly mage for a portal, or have someone queue me for a BG to get back to Dalaran.
