SE vs. KD

I'm still waiting for Mallet of the Tides to drop. I've King's Defender for months and in a moment of hilarity managed to pick up Sun Eater on the one run I specced Fury so I could piggy-back along to watch on of our OTs in action.

KD looks like the all around better option with more threat and higher effective health. Are there any situations where I should actually use SE or did it drop in my lap too late?

All T4 is farmed. Lurker, Hydross, VR are down as well, we're made our first Tidewalker attempts last night.
