EDIT: who am I? I've made a few mods over the years (SendSelf, AssistMe! (Aliset Remix), FOAD, Id Est), but I've only ever lurked here. I'm hoping the community here would find a beta of TankPoints with new features useful enough to give it a shot and tell me if there's anything broken.

I've made some modifications to TankPoints to include EffectiveHealth/EffectiveHealthWithBlock calculations, as well as some increased compatibility with the new patch.

Unfortunately, it's not my mod, the mod author is only intermittently available, and my modifications are a bit more than a bit, so I'd like to open up testing to the larger community before I go merging the patch up into someone else's code.

This version of TankPoints has been in private testing for a bit now. I'm looking for bugs - whether theory bugs or UI bugs - feature suggestions will be read but probably not acted upon. Just saying.

Oh, and very much looking for non-English users of WoW - I need to know if the new TankPoints dies horribly for non-english. If anyone knows of a good way to test this on a US server using the US client...let me know.

At the very least, I think you'll find the new TankPoints even more valuable - particularly check out the new EffectiveHealth paperdoll frame, the new tooltip options, and the new command to set mob damage in terms of actual damage received.

On the other hand, since I think the idea is great and for a long time I wanted something like that, AND I know what I'm doing exactly, I downloaded the thing and it is not, today, november 20, a virus, it is NOT a virus I repeat.

The poster could be faking us of course, replacing the link with a virus in 2 days, who knows? The domain name is TERRIBLE.

Aliset, I think your ideia is fantastic, a real asset for the community, but you gotta make the right marketing out of it, get a better domain name, give your addon a proper name, post it on curse or somewhere more respectable.

Is there a way to get the EH + or - added to an items tooltip just like the tankpoints are there currently?

Haha! Oh, lordy.

I sometimes forget just how bad my fake.domain.name address looks. But you have to admit: if you owned fake.domain.name, wouldn't you use it all the time? A few friends of mine even had me set up mail aliases so they could use it for their email addresses.

I'll amend the above to include the svn branch location where I've been maintaining this if you'd like to check it out from there.

As for marketing: I'm going to merge it in to TankPoints on Ace. I'm doing the testing here to make sure that I'm not going to screw anyone over - as poor WhiteTooth is probably going to get the error notices no matter what I put in the info.

There's a section with tooltip options. Not only is there an EH/EHB +/- display option, but there's also a theoretical DR +/- for when you're trying to build an avoision set.

Although I'm only another 1 post registrant, I too have been lurking around here for a while. Aliset and myself are in the same guild and I've been running the mod for a month or so now trying to help with discovering bugs. I think it's fantastic and it's helped me make a few tricky decisions over gear.

Well, I've made a few last-minute changes (which I'm sure I'll regret), and am releasing.

I don't have permission to update the Curse links, etc, but I'm sure WhiteTooth will be back soon enough.

I downloaded this too, and I LOVE it. (I'm a numbers-guy... give me anything that shows lots of digits!)

However, I did notice one tiny bug. (Pay attention)

I have an addon that automatically equips my [item]Riding Crop[/item] when I mount up, which typically replaces my [item]Regal Protectorate[/item]. After discovering the wonders of EH, I noticed that when I mounted, by effective health DID NOT CHANGE (and it damn well should have, I think, since the trinket provides a signifigant boost to avoidance). I tested it a few times, and it shows my effective health when I, say, receive a Blessing of Fortitude or the like.

Just something you might want to look into.

EffectiveHealth is not, repeat NOT modified by avoidance. Effective Health is how much of a raw beating you can take if EVERY blow connects. A great example of this is Mechanar Heroic - those robots can stun you and then pound on you. While stunned you have no chance to dodge, block, or parry - you're just gonna have to sit there and take it. So it's a good measure of how much you CAN take.

EHB (EffectiveHealth with Block) is a better measure for most boss fights - that's how much raw damage you can take if every blow lands, but you block all the shots you're guaranteed to block (either you have 100% coverage on the hit table OR you're using shield block).

I hope this helps explain why a +defense trinket won't modify your EH or EHB (unless it's that magic amount that puts you to 100% block or you were too low and shield block was previously not enough to put you at 100% block).

For avoidance tanking, take a look at the TankPoints number - or the Melee DR number.

It doesn't work for me, in the pull down menu (in the char. pane) i can see tankpoint and Effective Health. But when i select them, it just shows me an empty window (only the little window in the char. pane)

Thanks for clearing that up. I'd realized this by the time I logged back on and really thought about it, but perhaps this will help others as clueless as I was at the time. :P
