| Dwarf Fortress is wonderful. But he really needs to spend some serious time on the UI one of these days. Yes, it lets you do everything you need to do, and yes, the roguelike display is part of the charm. But, at the same time, the menus really need some serious re-organization to make it easier to learn—and at least providing asprite-based isometric display as an alternative would be a good idea since the game went 3D... visualizing what's going on became a whole lot trickier with that change. |
