I stopped playing WoW for a few months, to catch up with RL. Early in this break, 2.4 was released. Before that, I was sufficiently geared for t5 tanking. Right now, approaching my return to the game in a couple of weeks, I'm in the same situation. Meanwhile, on my server, a dozen of the t5 guilds have become t6 guilds. With the new gear in 2.4, coupled with the time I had off, I'm afraid that my gearing is below the mark for any hopes at joining a serious guild.

This is very...

Patch 2.4.2: "[item]Nightfall[/item] now has a chance to fail on targets over level 60."

Damn. I still used Nightfall regularly when I wasn't tanking any given encounter. I always dreamed of some theoretical raid consisting entirely of casters and Nightfallers. It was a tiny piece of the old world that I was able to cling onto, comfortable that it was universally useful and not bound by level; the only thing it scales with is raid size.

Why would Blizzard...

1000 spell damage at lvl 60 is exactly as effective as spell damge at lvl 70. It increases all of your spells by that static figure, modified by the individual spell/rank. 1000 AP at lvl 1 is exactly as effective as 1000 AP at lvl 80. It increases your melee dps by (1000/14). +Healing acts similarly. Granted, this is not the case for all healing.dps stats. Spell crit/hit, melee crit/hit, penetration, expertise all, I think, suffer from becoming less effective at higher levels. But the guts...

I don't know why, but elemental damage is something I find immensely interesting. I find myself often championing a non-generalized approach to things. It's an open mind that allows one to see the true value in things, and the possibilities of seldom-explored dimensions of existing knowledge. And that's the most pretentious sentence, I suspect, that I've ever written. However, it's true. I quietly cheer to myself whenever I inspect a hunter to find leather gear which exceeds any mail he's come...

I've spent a lot of time over the last few days thinking about whether or not ZA should be included in our projected progression schedule. This is something I need to resolve before taking the final steps in starting the guild.

The current plan is to work through Karazhan with 2-3 teams until:
1. We clear Karazhan. We'll likely have lots of people who need gear from here, and it gives us something to do while waiting for the guild to fill out.
2. We have sufficient...
