One of the fights I considered to be a Level 3 tanking fight was Leothras the Blind in Serpentshrine Caverns back in BC. This encounter was difficult from the tanking perspective for various reasons.

To those unfamiliar with the fight, it starts with a 3 add trash pull (the adds could hit surprisingly hard) which following their deaths Leothras became active.
Leothras is a three phase fight. He starts out in humanoid form where he does a whirlwind which drops a strong bleed...

I read an artical recently on the most difficult fights to heal (I think Matticus wrote it) and got me to thinking what were the most difficult fights to tank that I have run across.

I've tanked most content since BC except for Sunwell. In Vanilla I was a hunter as I have previously mentioned, so I don't have the background to talk about tanking difficulty back then. But in the time I have tanked, I've run across 3 main types of tanking skill levels for bosses.

As a player from Vanilla, I still have a certain reverance for Epics that many newer players may not feel. Epics are passed out now and everyone can be fully decked out in them (although not the best ones) with minimal effort. But back in the days of 40 man raiding, Epics were impressive. Epics made you inspect people around you in major cities to gawk at their powerful gear while you sat there in your green/blue mix.

Because of this reverance, I have very fond memorys of my first...

I've always enjoyed those fights where I feel I've made a difference in the success of the group. Most of the time I run instances and I know that any competent tank could have filled in and it wouldn't make any difference. But some runs, you get lucky - and by lucky I mean you get incompentent players.

I got on late one evening and most of my guild had already run the daily heroic, which was Azjol-Nerub. I needed some Triumph badges at the time for my final badge upgrade so I pugged....

I return after a long hiatus from writing...and want to post about the same topic I last posted about - Chase gear. Gear you look for and just never see drop. In my last post I mentioned the fabled Shermaner Great Ring. I have a new piece that replaces it.

Pride of the Eredar - tanking cloak from Normal 25 Jaraxxus

I don't believe it exist. My guild has cleared it every week we've been able. Not a single cloak. I'd be ok if it dropped and another of my guild tanks won...
