WotLK was coming out and I was excited. I had played my DK in beta and really enjoyed the class. I wasn't worried about the soon-to-be influx of morons about to play the class because I'm the type who likes to really read up and perfect how I play a class. I was going to be good! But it doesn't matter how good you might be when you're the 841st DK to level 80. Your spots are gone.

Holy crap! It dropped for me last night in MC.

It began as an experiment to see if we could 4 man the place as I'd heard of some DKs solo'ing it.

I ended up pulling a good chunk of the guild in for the last fight to share the achievement love and I could not believe that the Eye of Sulfuras dropped.

My wife and the guild officers beat me into taking it. I won't lie, I wanted it. They weren't gonna let me give it up to random /rolls of people who just joined...

I shared my opinions on playing the three DK specs when I had the chance to play them all in beta. Well I'm a crazyman, because I was Unholy through Outland, but once I switched to Frost in Northrend, I sucked.

That's when I switched to Blood to finish my leveling. I wouldn't call it boring anymore. The self-healing enabled me to tackle some pretty tough cookies along the way.

So, I've been playing WoW for nearly three and a half years. In that time I've gotten married, had a kid and moved into a house. Maintaining a full time (60 hours / wk) job too! I've never been a hardcore raider, but I have been through MC, ZG and AQ20 back in classic, and in TBC I've been through Kara and Gruul.

Definately not what you'd call hardcore. The biggest reason my guilds have never gotten any further is the step stone attrition: Person X joins, gets gear, moves on to further...

I've been playing the beta for a little bit, but I can't bring myself to totally devote all of my time to it, leveling into Northrend etc. It's all going to be wiped out at the end of beta so it'll feel like I accomplished nothing.

With that in mind, I did want to play, afterall, this is a game and we play games to have fun, not necessarily accomplish something.
