I've been rather laid back, playing about with new skills, two new classes, and practicing tanking.
The weekend before the patch, I was invited by an old friend to tank a bear run, as bears wouldn't be available anymore. I haven't ever tanked a bear run. Having hung up the shield for a couple months and only recently having done any tanking (nothing past a casual heroic) at all, I was on edge, because I really didn't want to screw up his last chance to get someone a bear.

The flurry of letters I sent out to old raidmates returned this week. I have:
A fury warrior
Two mages
A holy priest
An elemental shaman
A DK/rogue (hasn't decided)
and myself, a Prot warrior.
So, I need to find some healers and maybe a tank.
Since I'm Blacksmith/Engineer, I'm also looking for a Miner to buy Wrath ore and doing dailies to stock up on cash. Everything's easier with cash

It's been months since my last blog post. And it's been more than six weeks since I hung up the signature tools of the trade, the Sword and the Shield.
This week, or more specifically, this weekend, I dusted off my armor, wiped off the oil, and got back into tanking. Just a few heroics, some easy stretching exercises to get the fast responses back. A bit creaky, but everything's there and in one piece.

So, Vashj is finally down, with that raid that my mage attends. Unfortunately, I don't have enough time to squeeze that many raid days in, so I resigned my regular status.
On another note, my warrior's ZA took a few hours of wiping to the Hexlord in ZA. It took us a few wipes for the healers to adjust to the incredible amount of raidwide damage that this boss can output.
This coming week, we're going to try a 3 boss clear on the timed run.

So, after a few weeks of getting smushed by multiple Striders and making little progress in Phase II, we found out what were were doing wrong. Our old strategy used a warlock casting Searing Pain and Slow to kite the Strider. Problem was, all the ranged DPS was holding back so much that we ended up with multiple Striders smushing everything. Even our local mana battery (also aggro monkey) shadowpriest couldn't generate enough aggro on the run to kill the Striders in time.
