Ok, what happened here, is there something about dragonhawk boss that I don't know....

In the combat log parse I'm posting notice that at 21:42'12.437 I gain shield block... but then w/o any blocked hits I get crushed twice in the span of less than 3 seconds....

Grombrindal of Hellscream if you want to armory me, I logged in the gear i tanked him in tonight (altho i can't guarentee i will be in it when you check.. lol... ) I can give you more links of the wws stats and I have not checked the raw combat log but here is the parse of my death...

Looks like that indeed, although from reading your combat log I can't help but wonder what are your healers doing? You've 3 healers there, unless you're hatching like every egg at once and they're all busy with AoErs or something why aren't you getting anymore heals than this :x

Yeah, I'm not sure what happened to them. I think they were just excited he was at 1% or so when I dropped. It was a long night learning this boss w/o having our prot pally OT.

Would this guy be better to tank in avoidance gear or did I just get fairly unlucky?

I still say this boss is an EH fight. You should have a colossal threat lead so mainly I focus on keeping up debuffs like T-clap and demo shout. Also if you have a hunter get him to keep scorpid sting up.

Same exact kinda thing happened to me last night...many, many times I consider myself to be about correctly gear to kill this bastard, kept all my debuffs + commanding shout up the whole time, chugged a few ironshield pots ect ect...and still found myself peacefully dirt napping while the rest of the raid ran like hell. Could be that I only had 1 healer and that was the problem, idk, but, I feel your pain

Well, hopefully your raid has at least two and this isn't a 25-man raid where Healers are either "on" the Tank or not. They need to be able to keep the Tank alive and raid heal. If they can't... well absed on your post you already know what happens.

Well, upon further conversation with the lead healer, raid was takin up too much healing time to..a...heal the tank... what an odd thing to write...

It could be a bug in the log, right before you gain Shield Specialization there are 2 blocked hits it could have logged out of order though with time stamp not sure how that could be, except your second blocked attack was the exact same time as the aura.

You can only gain Rage from Shield Specialization when a block occurs. So there was 2 blocks before the crushing blows or how could you have gained the rage from it. I do aggree that is some weird stuff because you should have saw the damage and amount blocked like further down in your log.

Though it is possible it was some weird bug in the game and it decided to give you 2 rage without any blocking, I had a problem with Lurker where he popped 3 crushing blows on me. I can see 1 crushiing blow if I did not hit it fast enough but not 3. So blizz may have a weird bug that just occurs sometimes.
