WOTLK Profession Preparation

I would imagine professions are one of the later things that Blizz develops so we may not have much information yet. But it's worth asking:

What materials should we be hording up to advance our professions and how much of them? There are still items that are colored to me at 375 BS and I'm wondering if anyone has looked into the 1) cheapest and 2) quickest way to get to 450 BS.

INSCRIPTIONS--has anyone been able to look into what the cheapest way to get inscriptions to 375 is? We should be able to get all these mats pre-expansion so I'd like to start stocking up. My warrior is BS/Mining and I never use mining anymore. I'm gonna go BS inscription.

This may be a bit outside the realm of TS so feel free to link me in any direction.

Nope. How's that work? Is it like the Dreaming Glory buff?

Someone said the easiest and cheapest way to get some quick levels on stuff you can hoard is to make Eternium Rods. Once you finish those off, you'll be into WotLK mats with a few levels under your belt. I think I got this off the professions forums and it makes sense.

Personally, I'm keeping mining and BS just for the intro tanking gear that we can make (Tempered Saronite I believe).

If you really want to take inscription and you don't want mining, you may want to pick up herbalism. Blizzard said at WWI that herbs would be the gathering prof. for inscription.

Yea I have several professions maxed out but here's my problem. . .

My tank (main) has mining/BS but doesn't mine because he has a slow bird.

My Shaman (farmer) has herb/Mining with an epic bird but would be the last toon to get to 80.

My hunter is skinning/engy and would be my second toon to get to 80. Don't need skinning really so maybe he's a candidate for inscription.

And my priest is JC/Enchanting and those professions cost so damn much to level up I'm not dropping them.

So I guess the hunter will be the inscriber.

Tailoring is usually pretty easy as cloth is always abundant....my lock shouldn't have problems there but Engineering will be a pain because I'm kinda stuck on 369 atm with only green recipies

JC....hmmm.....probably best bet is to hang on to epic gems and cut those to level. If they improve BS like it looks they are at least in the early stages, ore will be expensive.

Enchanting.....ugg....hopefully there will be some cheap, low level enchants to do or....putting high end stuff like Mongoose and Executioner on scrolls. /shrug

Herbs will be easy at first. No one is going to be going all out to level Inscription at that end....they'll all be farming Peacebloom to begin with. Alchemy will get expensive with the sharing of herbs with another profession.

QTF - just like when Jewelcrafting came out for TBC.
Only pick up the Inscription profession if you want to be one of the 4500 players on your server with it.

I'll end up leveling whatever proves to be the most beneficial to tanks. As to what that will be, who knows.
