Note that Pummel and Shield Bash were apparently just taken off the global cooldown, for example. | Shield Bash and Pummel off the GCD? This is Huge. Definately up there on my wish list.

My money is on near equal threat, mitigation and avoidance for all three. If not at live, then sometime within the first few patches. I could easily see there being no clear winner in any area of threat or damage reduction at tier 7 or 8 and beyond. In fact for the game, that's a good thing. For anyone who is not one of the classes that has a gear advantage at X stage of progression.. that's a good thing.
They tried to make the three tanking classes in TBC quite different, and it didn't work so great, and certainly didn't scale with content.
There was some talk about each class having their niche, but it doesn't seem to be what they are doing, it didn't work in TBC, and it doesn't help anyone in the game. A homogeneous tanking world is probably what we'll end up with, each able to perform as well as the others just in their class specific way. | This.

Retaliation on the other hand needs to be buffed big time. It competes with Rend for the "least used ability" title for me. I hope this is addressed when they get around to redoing our talents. I have a lot of other concerns too, but this isn't the thread for them. | Lol, i forgot i had that move. Haven't used it since about lvl 50.

Some new notes:
Divine Protection now reduces all damage taken by 50% and increases time between attacks by 100%.
Sacred Duty now also reduces the cooldown of Divine Protection. | So they nerfed threat reduction more while it is up (was 50% increase in attack time..now 100%), but allow for a lower cooldown when talented.
I wouldn't be surprised if they greatly reduced shieldwall's cooldown when they do the warrior changes.

| | That.
The most difficult thing in balancing classes is making them able to perform the same tasks in unique ways....unique enough to emphasise the distinction between the four of them. Let the most capable player behind the keyboard earn the position.
I'm all for inter-class rivalry in a good-natured way but it has a tendency to get nasty and feed resentment.

As long as it's not a "Only class X and Y can tank, class Z sucks and will never tank any boss" that we got said back in early tbc days and still get told nowadays (i still don't happen to can tank heroic SV apparently), i'm fine.
For us it will always be the one who wins the roll tanking the boss anyway.

For us it will always be the one who wins the roll tanking the boss anyway. | I did this last night actually. My pally tank friend and I actually rolled to see who got to tank Prince in Kara (I won, hurray for me). We fly through the place without really out-gearing it because we trust each other and we trust our healers.
I would love for him to have shield wall, although 5 minute CD is completely crazy.

I'm still waiting to see what more they have in store for Warriors though.

I for one am already terrified at the disgusting killing capacity the WOTLK bosses must have to merit all these OMG buttons they are passing out left and right.

They haven't really done anything I'm aware of that wasn't already in the game aside from make more classes able to use it.

Well considering the improved intervene shield wall of OP ness, the hunter shots, the shaman spirit links, and putting OMG moves on a shorter CD, i'd say bosses are about to get really nasty.

I wouldn't be surprised at all to see absolutely absurd damage spikes over the course of fights that pretty much require the use of an "Oh shit" button at the right time.
I think it would add an extra level of skill to the game while tanking bosses, instead of just standing in one place, trying to hit a perfect rotation, and saying "PLEEZE HALPZ MEEE" to your healers. (coughPrincecough)
More "oh-shit"s means more paying attention to your environment and less attention to your robot-like ss-rev-dev-dev-ss-rev-dev-dev..... and whatever the corresponding spam is for druids or Bleepadins (my new work in honor of Veneratio).

Oh don't get me wrong, i'm looking forward to more BA bosses, it's just sorta intense to think about just how nasty the could be from what we've seen with the new moves / talents.
