Just farm heroics when you have WG and turn the shards into 10k honor
Dang forgot about that. Yeah I have the shards already to do it this way...

Death-warmed belt would be a better socket choice; you can get 6 agi from that socket. Footpads of silence are another better choice.
Alright. When I've got the gems to spare I'll flip them.

There are a fair amount of choices. The tier pieces are actually not the best for bears in many of the slots, and the hard mode 10 man gear is better than them quite often. Plus there are weapon, jewelry, cloak choices...it's not super complex, but there is some degree of complication.
theres only shoulders, hand and a chest from 10 man heroic that fit in tier slots and if you looked and the armory im using the shoulders and the hand and chest are dps pieces so its really not quite that hard. Theres only 3 cloaks, 3 neck and 3 rings to choose from as well. like i said the limited number of items makes choices for toc very easy

Thanks Owl... I think I prefer being a little more targeted in my upgrades than just grabbing anything that is physical DPS leather. Sometimes upgrades really aren't upgrades.
thats the problem though theres only 2 pieces ilvl 245 in each slot for physical dps leather and 1/2 of them are the same as the 232 but better stats and/or more sockets so those 245 will always be better than thier 232 counterparts.

So you're saying other than the choices you have to make you don't have to make any choices?

The non-tier 245 pieces for legs and chest are on par with the tier pieces in 25 normal. The shoulder and gloves are better than the 245 tier pieces. There's no head replacement, but the non-tier helm or stormrage are almost as good.

Really, for a bear the only reason to go tier pieces at all is because you can get them more easily than non-tier pieces.

There are choices; you just need to know where to look. Even on the leather slots.

theres always choices you could chose to tank in t6 but as for toc loot theres 2 pieces for each slot 1 designed for dps and 1 designed for tanking so there really is no choice

the 245 non tier pieces legs have the exact same stats as the tier pieces but no bonus

tier legs
non tier legs

the chest is nearly the same and the gloves are for dps

non tier hands
tier hands

so your already going with the tier chest, legs and hands so that makes the head better than stormrage because of the 4 pc bonus

Err, no.

The tier legs don't have haste; the non-tier do. The non-tier are much better for threat than the tier legs. But they're otherwise the same. It's certainly a place I'd get the tier piece if nothing else dropped for me and I had a trophy.

The non-tier 10 man hard mode hands are an option compared to the tier hands. Gemmed for stamina they're very close. If I had one, I'd probably not go for the other.

The head and shoulder non-tier badge pieces are much easier to obtain (since they don't require trophies). For that matter, so is Stormrage. I prefer the T9 head because of the expertise, but it's not really an issue - stormrage is pretty good.

The tier chest isn't as good as knightbane carapace, which requires only triumph badges (or nothing if your guild is nice to you). And it's significantly better.

The off-tier shoulders are easy to obtain, but the shoulderpads of the snow bandit in heroic are better than the tier piece or the non-tier piece. And heck, the hard mode iron council shoulders are better than either. Again, significantly better enough to skip the tier pieces.

The 2p tier bonus is meh. The 4p is okay and for certain fights it's good, but it's probably not worth getting the tier pieces just for it.
