Not sure if someone has commented it but Greaves of Ancient Evil dropped today in HC Ahn'kahet. They hold extremely good stats: 1% more avoidance and 360 less EH than Tempered Titansteel Treads.

So I notice Necklace of the Chrono-Lord - Necklace of the Chrono-Lord - Item - World of Warcraft - Doesn't make the list. Any reason for this?

By the way, how does this list scale for Death Knights and if not at all is there a Death Knight version of this list?

I gather this list will pertain to Prot Warriors and Pallys the most. Since they are so closely related with pre-naxx and naxx gear needs, I think DK's and Druids should be on a different list. Otherwise this wonderful list would get confusing.

I would love to see more thoughts on what are the best enchants for each slot when you have some time. Thanks for the work you put in, this has made finding upgrades to get ready for Naxx sooooo much easier.

I usually spend a day or 2 sifting through pages of gear to narrow down what Im after.

Really nice guide!

(I would prefer if the links didn't open new tabs, but maybe that's just me.)

[item]Eternally Folded Blad[/item] doesn't drop from Utgarde Pinnacle. It's from Halls of Lightning.

Hmm

Somthing i just dont understand!

The rankinglist of items, u have taken Keystone Great-Ring
Higer ranked then for exsample Gatekeeper

Why is this? it have 9 more dodge?
But 38 less armor
11 less strengt
9 less stam
28 less hit?

Must be somthing wrong?
In my eyes its almost an de.
Same with the dodge "emblem" trinket to, cant see that i love that so mutch, but hey, i may be missing somthing

8 dodge rating + 42 armor > 11 strength + 9 stamina

At least according to my formulas and my intuition do agree. Strength ain't worth that much from a mitigation point of view (and hit rating is completely useless for that).

There's a dude on Elitist Jerks who has made a spreadsheet that does roughly the same thing: Tanking Spreadsheet - Elitist Jerks

If you really want to tinker with everything and have more control in how the ranking is done, I suggest you simply use that one instead.

Hey demog, don't forget to add Jormungar Leg Armor to your leggings list, additionally I believe that LW's get a LW only armor kit that's +55 Stam as well.

Definatly not, pretty much every weapon you encounter will be better. The Blazefury has almost no defensive stats so basically you are using a very old weapon which only benefit is the nearly 100 dps.

I would suggest getting an upgrade immediatly, the soloable questchain to the Hammer of Quiet Mourning would be a good place to start.

But 28 hit must be good though, if im under cap, think i have 150 hit or so. And cap is 295 on a 80 mob. isen it?
Not sure wath the cap is on a 83 levil.
But realy cant understand it, did think this ring was only ment for Druid tanks.
Hmm.

The list was designed for purely survival based "what's better" comparison. It provides a general rule as to what is going to help you survive longer in a fight (granting that you already have 540 defense through your other gear).

So things like Hit, and to a smaller degree, strength hold a much smaller weight in the numbers. Personally, I would use the Gatekeeper over the Keystone, but, in terms of pure survivability I take a small hit while doing so. In terms of DPS while tanking I would see a slight increase.

---
Thanks for the update demog. I would ask though, what the 275 health enchant does when it stacks up vs the defense enchant however.

Thanks for your hard work demog! I'm curious where Battlechest of the Twilight Cult would show up on this list. I got it from a regular non-heroic Ahn'kahet, so it may not register at all.
