Hello everyone, yes, I know there are loads of guides and I made my own small list of items I could aquire.

This is my armory:

I tanked my first heroic last night (Slave Pens, the easiest one afaik)

And my to-do list (items come in order of preference, first one I think it's "better" than bottom -- Also, an "x" in front means I have the item):

Shoulder:

Cloak:

Note on cloaks: Devilshark > Eternity ?

Note on chest: gimme fel armaments kthx.

Boots:

Note on boots: I have the item]Sha'tari Wrought Greaves[/item] (Not sure what to gem it with tho :P)

Note: Don't know wich to replace... I think Delicate Eternium is the one I'll drop...

Trinkets:

- [item]Adamantine Figurine[/item] (Shadow Labs - Blackheart the Inciter) -- DEFENSE

Note on trinkets: Planning on Goblin + Figurine

Weapon:

- [item]Blackout Truncheon[/item] (Shadow Labs - Grandmaster Vorpil) - Aggro

Shield:

- [item]Ogri'la Aegis[/item] (Ogri'la Revered)
- [item]Netherwing Protector's Shield[/item] (SMV: Ally of the Netherwing - Zuluhed chain)

Note on shields: If I feel suicidal enough, I may be doing arena to get 1850 personal rating...

follow this order.


run regular mana tombs for pimp boots use them all the time.

Get bold shoulders vendor the ones you have after.

Farm devil shark and profit. forget about the other.

get bold chest and the ring (band of the sentry). once you get bold continue to heroic mech for sun eater and shatar rep. live there till exalted. grab a sexy shield.

get the SMV quest ring.

get all the trinkets and save em. you will be switching them in and out for a long time.

get these blues (awesome way to learn tanking) then as you get badges you can scrath off missing pieces with badge gear.

use this guide but generally replace your worst pieces.

Are definately nice =D But I know some tanks that still use the Mantle as they had bad luck on drops. =( .. Me I got mine on my second SLabs run. /hides.

Chest I vote to get [item]Vindicator's Hauberk[/item] or [item]Jade-Skull Breastplate[/item] or do the cheap..but time consuming route I went..well if you have the Defense or an make up the Defense for it its great for TPS

[item]Gladiator's Plate Chestpiece[/item] Wicked sick Stam you can put on it or any of the Gladiators chests if you have an arena team (I dont boo)

I think [item]Flesh Beast's Metal Greaves[/item] is wondeful personally..ya lose a bit of stats and armor..but the Mitigation is great.

The boots with the gems.. +12 Stam! FTW!

In fights where you need the +stam trinket use that =D All of them are good.

Weapons you can always switch out during a fight. You can always put some gems to make it a eh..not too bad mitigation wep or a passable one for the first bit of a fight till you get aggro well and secure..then switch out to the +stam mitigation axe.

Shield get the Netherwing one for now an work on the Sha'tar rep one. Ogrila atleast to me) is hard to get rep with. >.<

The ring is a side up your you think it's needed?

And wich ones do I keep ? :P (just by seeing it I'd say sentry/mark/windtrader/eternium - in order of preference)

Yeah I'm not dropping trinkets. Regal protectorate is nice ("second" last stand), and Dabiri's enigma is good for fast-hitting bosses. While Figurine/engineer are great for EH fights.

I will just start farming blues, I tanked my first heroic last night so I'm quite happy and going forward.
You think I could tank other heroics than SPens?

So far, so good. So you think the Greaves with 2x +12 sta gems are good for EH?

EH fights = figurine/engineer one, yes, that's what I first thougth when I made the list :P

Uhm, I just have to kill zuluhed so I will follow your advice. Sha'tar one looks nice... but Vengeful Gladiator..... =)~~~~ (slurp slurp slurp)

Anytime hon =D and yeah I think the boots with the +12 Stam should be good.

A note on the shoulders--I went straight from [item]Warchief's Mantle[/item] to [item]Spaulders of Dementia[/item] by chance, since I can never get [item]Shoulderguards of the Bold[/item] to drop for some reason. If it's the same for you and you have a good group, it might be best for you to go Heroic Sethekk instead of repeatedly farming Shadow Labs.

I blew money on [item]Cloak of Eternity[/item], but that's lasted me 2-3 months 'til I actually managed to get [item]Gilded Thorium Cloak[/item]. It's nice, but if you want to save money and grind CE rep instead...then just keep running Steamvaults repeatedly.

[item]Breastplate of the Bold[/item] never dropped for me. I stuck with [item]Jade-Skull Breastplate[/item] instead.

I found that [item]Adamantine Figurine[/item] is a pretty frequent drop, so you shouldn't have much problems getting it.

The [item]Blackout Truncheon[/item] wasn't, though...

IMO...[item]Crest of the Sha'tar[/item] > [item]Ogri'la Aegis[/item] > [item]Aegis of the Sunbird[/item] > [item]Platinum Shield of the Valorous[/item] > [item]Netherwing Protector's Shield[/item].

Of course the S2 shield is so much better than all the above... =S

The Gladiator's Shield wall is way better than the Shat'ar rep one, and a lot quicker to get
