How does your guild handle Runed Orbs?

So in my Guild i see it as unfair.. We get runed orbs they are automatically put in the Bank and then if u want them you can buy them for G.. this would be fine if we where struggling for gold, but with an average of 6k gold just used of guild repairs during raids there is no real need. we use the EPGP system and i think it makes more sence to hand out GP like a person can get a stack of 6 out of the bank for 124GP (a belt from 25 ulduar is about 124GP).

but how does your guild do it?

Give them away free to anyone who has the mats - worked initially

Now
Free to anyone who wants just 3 and buys his other 3

Going to raffle off the next set of 6 on progression nights - anyone who has his mats together can /roll and get the set.

We collect the orbs and make items on request if the non-orb mats are provided. Back in the day with Cores from MC and Vortex's from T5 we used to do a fancy queing system, but now we just wing it.

We charge points based on the item that is created, and offer up lots of 6 as regular loot in raids as we get them.

Every item in our guild costs 50 dkp to get in a raid so we sell a set of 6 for 50 dkp to anyone that's got the mats to make one. Obviously that person isn't allowed to sell it after the fact.

We charge 120 dkp for a stack or 20 dkp each, max bid on normal Ulduar 25 loot is 125 dkp,

Guildies request orbs and are given in bunches of 4, the other two it's up to the guildie to buy off AH, from GB (for going rate) or with EoC.

[We roll on all loot, so using DKP for orbs wouldn't make sense ]

We do this - we also charge a percentage for less orbs, i.e 3 orbs costs 50% less.

First guild I was in distributed them the same way they did drops- people bidded dkp for batches of 6.

The current guild I'm in just has a prio list, and people who already have the other mats are at the top of it.

Both work fine. But I think the way your guild does it is incredibly rude. Everyone who helped down the boss should be entitled to the drops, you don't sell other gear to members do you? And I really hope that they're not selling them at full AH price.

Though personally, since I'm an impatient person, I bought my orbs from the ah.

sounds liek alot use a point system or give them to the guildies... which i think both ways are fair, instead of making people buy them

When we first started in Ulduar we did a 2 orb / 4 orb deal, where we provided 4 orbs for free if the player provided 2 of their own for a best in slot item. We couldn't provide the full six for players at the time.

Now we just sell them.

2 DKP points per orb

we use set prices on all item slots so it actually comes up to being a bit cheaper

i.e boots cost 15dkp if they drop, you would only spend 12dkp on the orbs.


Seems to be a fair way to do it.

We're used Fixed DKP ( using the wellknown addon ). Averagly loot cost between 180 and 220 DKP. If you wish to recieve 6 orbs ( to get a new item ) you pay 200 DKP.

We use a list on our forum to sign to see who gets them first. First come first served.

250 DKP for the set (=cost of a mainspecc item) or 50 DKP per orb, so the 6th orb is "free", although people have the choice to buy say 3 orbs for 150 DKP.

Just a second? You see it unfair but your guild is providing 6K per raid for repairs or your guild have just 6K gold?

1) If it's first you should pay for them and support your guild. Since your guild is covering your repair expenses so you should support that.

2) if it's second... 6K gold is nothing... 10-15 wipes on hard mode cost guild around 2500g and your guild should realy start to build up some gold for the bank.

As response to your question we use 4/2 rule, it's great so far.

5dkp/orb (available in stacks smaller than six only if the member already has the others). This puts the total cost of six orbs to 30dkp, which is roughly equivalent to our average bid for an Uld25 item.

Distribution is handled with priority to those that have mats in descending dkp order.

We sell for 1/2 the listed Auction House price.

(ie. on AH is listed for 1000g the person can buy from Gbank for 500g)

We charge DKP for our orbs per orb. We require that the person have all their mats and a crafter lined up in order to get the item made immediately.
