Not a fan of this new background. The width of my screen is such that the Grinch's face is perfectly positioned to be staring at me as I try to read the forums. Its terribly distracting. Will likely use Adblock or some other Firefox addon to hide it.

| That's an excellent suggestion - the folks who feel its distracting or likely to get them in hot water with wives, co workers can simply block the image.
So for art lovers its boobies galore and for cubicle dwellers pristine white background.

The new background is beautiful. As an artist myself I am wholly impressed with how well done it is. I also request the original versions when possible to see what I missed.
I can't really imagine people finding it offensive, but maybe I am just ignorant about such things. I know this is not an ideal solution, but Firefox users can use https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/2108
With that add-on you can change the CSS of any site to whatever you wish. Long ago I used it to browse Tankspot with a different background and color scheme.

Yea I just saw it in the admin forum. I want a higher res version of the NE's armor though, awesome.

If someone comes up and asks you if you're looking at porn, politely turn around and say "I see art, you see porn. You tell me where your mind is."
Seriously. Nothing to be ashamed of here. The site shows the game for how it is played. So to be honest, be honest with your co-workers and explain it's from a game and it's not porn. If they rag on you, turn around, ignore them, and go back to what you were doing.
There's absolutely nothing to be ashamed of for frequenting a site about a game. Pictures shouldn't be even the least of that issue anymore.
Or do what I do:
"Is that porn?"
"Totally, I'm so fapping to this right now while I'm at work, see!?"
...then shake my head and call em idiots.
| You must not work at a place that's too strict about things like this. Some do, and you should respect their views, as you expect them to respect yours.
The larger question is why those people would be browsing a video game site at work to begin with.
My two cents? I like the old art better. I wish there were some way to choose which artwork was displayed (like some forums have different themes and such).

My one and only issue with the image is that it distracts from the content. It is at the same brightness level as the forum and it makes it tough to read. I come here for the fantastic content and because of this image distracting me from the content I will be blocked the background from now on. The previous background did not distract me like this.

I would like to offer some thoughts with regard to those finding issue with the new background and calling it 'hypersexualized' or an 'objectification of the female form'.
| Well, the female characters do look like walking ads for breast enhancement surgery, so you shouldn't be surprised if people jump to that conclusion, whether it was intended or not.
That is not to say that I find the image particularly offensive (annoyingly cliche, yes, offensive, no). It's not going to drive me away, but it wouldn't exactly attract me, either, if I were new to a site, and it would count as a negative for me unless and until I discovered countervailing benefits.
Every picture sends a message, tells a story. As a woman, I can't really think of a single story that I could see the picture telling that would inspire me to visit the site, and I can think of a lot that would encourage me going somewhere else. The best reaction you could expect from me is to dismiss it as typical fantasy cheesecake art that's there because everybody does it, not because it's representative of the site.
Of course, this is a free country. I'm not telling you why you should or shouldn't like the image, I'm just explaining why I'm, well, less than enamored with it.

I dont know whats so upsetting about this, the elf in the first intro video to wow or bc not sure which one is almost identical, every female char in wow or wow related pics,info ,pretty much anything has the women like this, i mean have u looked at the drenai in game ? If u have this is nothing worse, just better detail
All in all i have to give this a ten outta ten, its simply astonishing in terms or artwork and originality. Top class workmenship for sure IMO Keep it up!

The upset stems from people don't watch the intro video to WoW at work, but they do come to Tankspot at work, and having big breasted woman pop up on your screen at work does not leave a good impression on the boss.

| Think that sums it up for me. I don't like any of this genre of art, this is no exception. All due respect to the artist, they've obviously got a lot of skill. Art is very much a matter of taste, this isn't to mine. Personally, I'd like the option to turn it off.

I'm "ok" with the artwork.
its great as artwork goes.
wish there was an option to have the old background show though. Not because I'm at work, but simply because while I'm browing at home, my wife and children are constantly walking around the computer...
Not a huge fan of half naked females on the screen while I'm doing research on encounters, gear, etc. Its not something my wife is loving at the moment.. Already been questioned about it, and got "the look" - as in, she's not happy about it, but knows that I can't do too much about it.

I've been hesitant to speak my opinion about it, but I can't get it off my mind so I'll spill it. The orc has a strange "pedo-smile" that irks me in some fashion. Other than the site looking kind of bright on my monitor it's ok.
(go to the "best page in the universe" if you need more info on what a pedo-smile is).

| Isn't this a bit hypocritical though? The orc tank doesn't exactly look like your average human with his huge build either. What I am trying to say is that the artist was atleast consistent when making everyone sexier. Cliche, sure. But I haven't seen anyone saying that the orc makes others uncomfortable and compelled to go train in the gym (which I guess would be the analogy to your breast enlargement ad).
