I like a lot the new background, believe me, since I am an anime fan I'm used to having those kind of artworks as my background at home, but maybe one of the things that people is concerned about is coworkers reactions. I'm used to read the chat often during my day and well too put an example, just now a coworker passed by and asked me joking if I was watching some sort of "Elf porn".

So it's not like we don't want to be seen reading game stuff at work, but it's true we avoid to see things that shows more than usual when we are at it.

lol, really, I think its just fine. If anyone has a problem with the background being seen by others in a place where you probably shouldn't be surfing the net anyhow, make the browser window less-wide so all you see is the body of the site.

Personaly i love the new artwork and it has taken its place on my desktop. I always thought that the old background was kind of bland and run of the mill and i am very glad that tankspot now has a distinctive, well done and fitting artwork.

If someone comes up and asks you if you're looking at porn, politely turn around and say "I see art, you see porn. You tell me where your mind is."

Seriously. Nothing to be ashamed of here. The site shows the game for how it is played. So to be honest, be honest with your co-workers and explain it's from a game and it's not porn. If they rag on you, turn around, ignore them, and go back to what you were doing.

There's absolutely nothing to be ashamed of for frequenting a site about a game. Pictures shouldn't be even the least of that issue anymore.

Or do what I do:

"Is that porn?"

"Totally, I'm so fapping to this right now while I'm at work, see!?"

...then shake my head and call em idiots.

It's probably not ideal if the first thought people have looking at your screen is whether you're looking at porn.

Anyway, force reload your browser if yuo're not seeing the new background with the Night Elf gone.

I love the new artwork! Great job Ciderhelm and team.

What amuses me though is that a mostly allied team now has two horde characters on the home page! I am horde so I approve of this message!

I also the love the marmot on the Orc's shoulder with a bad ass look on his face! Quite amusing!

You know that Orc is smiling because he is grabbing a little onion behind the message boards

I'll post up alternatives once I'm finished here.

I'll continue to take feedback on this throughout the day before making further positioning changes. I'm also going to take some time to look at analytics, etc., to estimate how many people are logging in from work, etc. If worse comes to worse we can remove the blood elf on the right side as well and just have downloadable options and embeds on our movies, etc. I'd rather not b/c I do think it adds a nice balance and I do think it's an attractive background for people who aren't otherwise affected, but it's also fairly important that we are able to be a useful tool to active visitors as often as possible.

Yeah. Adding the marmot in actually makes this all a bit more difficult. Earlier the Orc arm was underneath the TankSpot and it provided perfect contrast.

Wow the reaction to the new background has really surprised me, sounds like most Tanks out there are prudes.

Also what's up with everyone viewing websites at work full screen?

Persoanlly i think the artwork is very good, although i feel the orc looks a little cartoony compared to the nelf and belf. (Thought the nelf looked good in the centre too).

The Tankspot sign looks a little strange though, it's white writing on a light blue background for me, is it meant to be like that?

Orc centere with the two elves either side sounds like it'd make a very good desktop background.
