Ciderhelm-
I have squirreled away a pretty decent set of fury gear before they made the announcement of how bad ass block value is going to be. Did you do the same thing? Would you suggest leveling with the sheild on... or putting the fury gear on and going to town that way? I am just trying to get rid of a lot of gear that i probably wont use, but i dont want to vendor all that stuff if i might need it. Yes... I am a pack rat.
I guess I am asking what would you do? Vendor all the gear you dont need? It is nowhere near the level of my tanking gear, and my block value gear is giving me almost 1100 block value. | I didn't have amazing Fury gear by any stretch of the imagination (my average is probably somewhere smack in the middle of just coming out of Karazhan and Sunwell quality). I'm keeping all my best-in-slot items on hand, though, and I'm being pretty liberal in getting rid of things I don't need.
Here's the rule: Vendor anything and everything that you aren't sure you'll use (and that isn't a keepsake).

Good call, i will probably keep some of my stuff that i wont be able to sell like badge items, and some of my T6 quality stuff.. and my Jin'Rok, but would be good to get rid of a lot of the gear.
Also... are you keeping your resist sets ? IE frost, Nature, fire, and Arcane? I got my full on Hydross sets, and my fire set i was building for flame tanking... i also built an arcane set just to say i had one.

The stat difference on health in particular was just so big of a loss.
Unless anyone disagrees, I'd say get rid of it. I already got rid of all of mine.

My only Caveat to this is to save cloaks./trinkets/necks/rings those tend to last longer than the actual armor in terms of effectiveness. I used my Ony blood talisman to tank Illidan flames and infernals on Anetheron. Save em till you find something to replace them. trash your plate items with resist values on em tho.

I'm holding onto my fire resist odd pieces too. Namely: Neck, Ring, Cloak.
So Cider, quick question: Is armor penetration worth anything for leveling? Or do non elite trash mobs not have enough armor to matter?

armor reduction is still a % boost to all your physical attacks, it just no longer scales exponentially like it used to.

Right, but doesn't i just ignore x% of their armor? If so what good is reducing 15% of 1k armor? (Not sure how much armor regular mobs have)

Same author and very similar mods, though I like Combuctor better. My absolute favorite is Arkinventory; I just wish it had the search feature that Bagnon/Combuctor have.

(and due to the fact that doing this for Ramparts and Blood Furnace going into TBC gave me a deep hatred of the zones). | I think HFP itself was enough to give me deep hatred of that zone.

It's a good idea to get as many quests as possible ready to turn in immediately after launch -- Blizzard has confirmed that quests ready to turn in prior to Wrath launch will give experience once the level cap has been raised. Fill up your Shadowmoon Valley, Netherstorm, and potentially daily quests today and tomorrow! Just make sure your quest log is empty by the time you step foot in Northrend. | Hi Ciderhelm, I'm new to the forums, so don't hurt me!
I just wanted to ask you a few things about WotLK.
1) According to your quote, you can actually hand in daily quests for EXP, I am really surprised. So if I do these quests on a daily basis (doh), do I still get EXP? Or is it only for the initial quest that I get (the one with a yellow ! not a blue !)?
2) I am a DPS warrior (yay!), and I was wondering if it would be worth the bagspace to carry my tanking gear, since you said:
The rule of thumb for gear is that you don't hold onto it if you aren't sure you're going to use it. | .
I mean I don't know if I'll be tanking any instances as a Fury warrior. And it would be nice to have all the bag space I can possibly squeeze out of it.
3) Where are your bandages?

For those of you who are Project Lore fans, they have a complete runthrough (over several short "episodes") of Utgarde Keep. As usual with the PL stuff it's not a strict "how to," but they do take down every boss and in an entertaining fashion. It's at least a good way to A) kill some time waiting for the mailman to come and B) have an idea what to expect out of the instance.

| | | Ciderhelm's second talent build
Your second talent build confuses me, Ciderhelm.
Are you really saying that Deep Wounds is of greater benefit than Armored to the Teeth? When you're critting with only a single one-hander? I would love to understand the reasoning behind this one.
My own level 80 damage/soloing build is something more like Talent Calculator - World of Warcraft.
Otherwise - extremely useful info, as usual! Thank you for your work.

That is the appropriate level 74 build. I will change the link immediately. Also, distribute Protection points how you feel would make the most sense (the 3 in Shield Spec could be in Anticipation instead, and/or 2-3 points could be dropped from Puncture to either Shield Spec or Anticipation or both).
