little add: with Lesser Toughness you'll need 525 defense to be uncrittable (instead of 540)
Added!

Anyone know how much exp a run of Utgarde Keep gives?

Also with the changes to reputation (tabards) is it still possible to farm some by doing repeated runs on release date rather then competing for quests?

just wondering how to prioritize my speed run 5 man gear. i know xav said he runs with a lot of crit, and i have a plethora of gear to choose from. From SWP to full season 3/4, on speed 5 mans for leveling, is hit and expertise capping worthwhile, or am i better off loading up on pvp gear with crit and strength, or, even loading up on block value gear? So many choices to choose, what have you guys found most efficient and beneficial?

some specific gear lists (i.e. your DPS set and Tanking/AOE set) and your talent spec would be great Cider

Great work so far btw

Awesome stuff Cider and everyone! Ty for all the info. Not sure if this info would go in this post, but maybe you can include how to spend talent points for lvling? like a prot lvling spec? Where to put the points into and what survival talents we should be skipping as this may be the first time in WoW history that people will be lvling as Prot.points

Ty again for all the info guys...

Utgarde Keep (70-72)
This is a relatively easy instance for tanks, and unlike the Nexus in Borean Tundra, can be accessed almost immediately upon reaching Northrend. This instance is built almost exclusively around melee damage. Please note -- this instance gives the opportunity for two full levels if you chain clear it which is why I'm covering it in-depth. I won't give full instance outlines for other leveling instances in this thread.
Can you explain what "chain clear" means? You don't mean in one run you can get 2 levels by killing ALL trash do you? Just that you can get 2 easy levels by finishing, resetting, and going in again, right?

"Easy" being relative. You need a group dedicated to it, so it's not an option available to everyone. I probably won't do it myself due to time zone differences (and due to the fact that doing this for Ramparts and Blood Furnace going into TBC gave me a deep hatred of the zones).

Ciderhelm-

I have squirreled away a pretty decent set of fury gear before they made the announcement of how bad ass block value is going to be. Did you do the same thing? Would you suggest leveling with the sheild on... or putting the fury gear on and going to town that way? I am just trying to get rid of a lot of gear that i probably wont use, but i dont want to vendor all that stuff if i might need it. Yes... I am a pack rat.

I guess I am asking what would you do? Vendor all the gear you dont need? It is nowhere near the level of my tanking gear, and my block value gear is giving me almost 1100 block value.

Just a specific question on the chain-clears - how many clears to get those two levels? I mean, chain clearing could probably level you all the way to 78 or so depending on how many times you do it :P

So how many clears for 2 levels? And how long for each clear? Xav's video makes it look like maybe around a half-hour or so. I do run with well-geared folks.
