Gave a more complete outline of Utgarde Keep. I probably will not do the same for the other instances in this thread.

The DPS set is, of course, for single-target DPS. This is going to be a full Strength and Crit set, with as much SBV and Attack Power as possible without sacrificing the other stats. | I still prefer a DW approach for fastest grinding, especially for single-target (where incoming damage is so minor). The extra control from Shockwave really helps prevent damage intake, and standard DPS gear lets me load up on more focused stats.
Then of course, there's the option to switch specs to Fury for the self-healing and even more damage output. It's not like level-up instances require you to be prot-spec, as long as you run with good players.
Also, I got a chuckle from: Source: Ciderhelm

Instead of QuestHelper/Carbonite I would suggest you use Jame's Levelling guides which is much more optimized for fast questlevelling. This means you get the content and you get very fast levelling. He states that he comes close to 600K XP/hr using it and that is hard to beat even with QuestHelper I believe.
The guides can be found at World of Warcraft Pro | Brings Game Experience to You!. Print them out and get going!

One more thing:
Be sure to select View Printable Version at the bottom of the page (before the Comment section) when you print it out. It is VERY nice formatted and readability is amazing!
(And no, I am not Jame. Not even related...)

Can someone comment why the Nexus isn't immediately available?
The major problem I'm running up against is that I'm currently without a guild (currently looking) and friends on the server (recent restart). I'm on a very strong PvP server and am afraid of being ganked like crazy.
I thought of waiting a week or so, trying out Death Knights etc., just to make the experience less painless. Possibly even questing in the morning vs. the night for off-prime time hours.
Anyone have thoughts?

I used something similar when I got my warrior to Outland. It definitely helps to know which quests share similar areas. I always hate doing two quests at two different times in the same area when I could have done it in one shot.
Of course questhelper is STILL a help even with these guides.

| | This isn't specific to dailies though. We're still up in the air if QD dailies will grant XP.

I'm going to be out for about 45 minutes. I will update it as soon as I get back with Borean Tundra, some more items and quests (if anyone wants to do preliminary Wowhead searches or has tips/advice for me to add in, please post!).
I'm going to be getting into class-specific ability rotations and new abilities and Dalaran/flight soon, too.

I remember reading over on Elitist Jerks a few weeks back that you do indeed get XP from dailies at a reduced amount of gold returned cost. It's suggested you stack your quest log full of dailies, have them all ready to turn in when the expansion hits, then enjoy being ahead of the pack in terms of XP |

I figure worst case scenario I have a little bit more gold, and am a little closer to my netherwing drake on Thursday if the info is wrong. Besides, I am not doing much else for the next few nights |

Can someone comment why the Nexus isn't immediately available? | The Nexus is on an island/plateau in Borean Tundra. The only way to get there is to be summoned, fly (which you won't get until level 77), or complete a quest chain fairly far along in the Tundra that gives you a free flight there.
Once you're there, there's a flight path to get back, but you need to have been there once to learn it =)

Just curious about your bag addon. I have always used Onebag, now called Onebag3. But the bank feature it used to have is now gone. Basically it opened the bank up like it would your bags, one big view. Does Bagnon do this for the bank?

I'm a huge fan of Jame's guides, I follow it to the letter, it IS that good.Since he clearly states I should get all my talents into damage dealing, I decided to level up us a Fury-TG.
Something that I learned while leveling other chars: I level up in full HP consumables: major fortitude + crawdad + health pots. They can save your life during bad pulls (quite common), while running through mobs, if you are attacked by horde/alliance, and so on. Dying makes you lose too much time.

It's worth mentioning that the difference between prot leveling and DPS leveling is not nearly as large as it once was. You'll still level faster as a DPS spec (I intend to level Ret) but if you prefer to tank instances as you level, you'll be fine staying Prot.

little add: with Lesser Toughness you'll need 525 defense to be uncrittable (instead of 540)
