I decided to run H. Shattered Halls last night, as a giant middle finger to the place that used to require so much discipline and restraint and planning.

I ended up #1 on Recount, our guild's rogue (who is constantly #1 in DPS rankings) was absolutely floored. It was so much damn fun. SO MUCH FUN! SO MUCH FUN!

Starting a petition now to get the name of the skill Vigilence changed to 'Sandbag'

I just thought of how retarded Void Reaver is going to be. My Saturday 'Community service' helping a friend by going on her TK raids is suddenly looking appealing.

The patch cant install any faster can it?

Had to let it download overnight and now it seems so slow after all this buildup, Kharne is going to lead some runs tonight for sure

Anyone else think Cider's new look makes him look like Horacio's avatar? lol

good to see, I'll try to post some numbers this weekend if I raid as well, might be going pvp prot so I might as well tank a kara.

My biggest problem so far is the utter lack of rhyme or reason in my tanking. It's a little bit along the lines of:

"ooo shield slam is up! oh hey revenge! oh the glyph! is thunderclap up? oh wait shockwave! shield slam is up again! did i do devastate yet? is thunderclap up? oh wait, revenge! oh snap i forgot to heroic strike, is that on my bar? conc blow weee!"
HAHEAHAHAH
I feel EXACTLY the same! Seems like I'm playing with a new toy and still not used to it
Will take a couple more runs to adjust heh

Yeah, even Cider wants to be like me.

Yep, its frantic. Its like sitting on the living room floor on Dec 25th at 10 am wondering what toy to play with (in some fantasy, happy family myth, lol)

I've only run 2 raids since patch: Gruul and Kara (i'm going to do ZA on my prot warrior in the next 3 days).

DPS was stupid, it was amazing. Gruul died on grow 5. GROW FIVE! IN A PUG!. The new rule is, if Gruul lasts long enough to BL twice, ur lolbad.

Kara. Kara was stupid good. I've seen curator nearly downed in 1 evoc before patch. I thought that was cool (considering the week before patch I did a kara pug with a bunch of 70s who'd never done kara before and died to ILLHOOF's ENRAGE TIMER WTF?).

Never before had i seen Curator actually downed BEFORE evoc. It was disgustingly awesome (and i did twice the dps i did more than a week ago, even without evoc help).

I've never seen nightbane downed IN THE AIR. My feral drood friend couldn't even use his combo points, nightbane didn;t stay down long enough.

Goals: H shatt halls, ZA w/o a paladin, and Hopefully scrub my way into some hyjal/bt. Also, get out of blues (felsteel= hard to replace).

Having done kara and 10 heroics since patch I am absolutely floored. The hardest thing for me is managing my damage intake to keep it in line with the healers. Once you get a feel for how much you can pull, it is a breeze.

Note: H BF still hits like a freight train, don't pull multiple packs.

I've been floating between 600-900dps depending on how much AoE. 1 thunderclap followed by shield block was enough aggro to allow the DPS to go aoe happy.

Oh, and my policy on vigilance is "if you get intervene'd, you get vig"

Is this a golden hour before the nerfhammer comes in do you think? It is vastly overpowered? Some of these stories sounds like a bit of an overestimate by Blizz!

I'm gutted I havn't even managed to get a run in yet since the patch, work sucks

it's not, this is what happened when patch 2.0 happened, until we get to 80, they won't make major changes because they did their testing and ran their spreadsheets.... at 80, not at 70.

I soloed one of the statue guys from AQ40 :P

Of course I am not a Warrior and wasn't even specced Protection so that's completely irrelevant to the discussion at hand, but it was fun!

How did you keep the other 3 off of you? Or am I thinking of the wrong statue guys?

I meant the mana draining bird-lookin dudes, I don't remember what they're called.

Once thing I noticed last night was how well Prot Warriors work with Frost Mages now. A Prot Warrior's damage output for threat paired with the slowing capability makes the big AoE pulls much more safe as the Warrior can simply outpace mobs if the healer falls behind.

Of the few times we got into trouble last night, each time it was due to either a mind control/charm or myself getting stunned and ganged by 5-6 heroic mobs.

Amusing side note: our DPS all died (ate AoE) on Talon King Ikiss in my Heroic Seth pug last night and I was able to finish the fight from 50% DPSing by myself before the Paladin healer went OOM. Warbringer was incredibly helpful too for getting back to the boss after LOSing the AOE. Never thought I would be able to do something like that in optimal pre-Karazhan tanking gear.

It sure does seem like blockvoidance = avoidance for all but the harders hitting trash mobs!

Ahh dps is our responsibility. I didn't even think of that. Here I was worrying that the skill was being taken out of tanking but this new role explanation illuminates a golden path to my future in tanking.

Also: "Stun, stunning is a habit, get like me..."
