Sorry to raise an old thread but have a mate who got crit at 542. According to tank points he had a 0.04 chance of being crit.

Pluggins some number in got me to 543.

Oh no it starts again:

Up to the point when someone says that if Blizzard implementet such a small number there were much more warriors documenting such crits (very much players). In fact most people reporting this did one of the following misstakes:
- Changed some gear before the fight were not crit imune and didn't realize that
- Hit the sit down button
- Fighting against a 4 level higher mob
- Got pre WotLK or now against a 4 level higher mob crushed and thougt it was a crit

I admit there is allways the technical possibility that some bits in the server change wrong and this leads to no other misstakes but you getting crit... Well there is a chance that a meteorite is crashing into your house right now.

If you are level 80 and tank points shows a chance of being crit against a level 83 mob with 540 defense - delete it and get a new version.

Look at your defense tooltip instead of a player written addon.

As for the crit, not enough information given. See post above, but also what was he fighting? If it was a dual wielding mob, good chance it's a rogue type.

One particular mob that doesn't Dual Wield but can still crit is the Unbound Firestorm - NPC - World of Warcraft , which gives itself an "Afterburner" Buff, increasing it's chance to crit by 50%. I haven't noticed anything else, and I've tanked/OT'd every instance available.

As it wasn't me I cannot be certain what he was tanking. Only that it was a standard 80 elite, ie. not a raid elite.

The DW mob could be the answer.

Not that it matters, but I believe the first boss in H UK will crit a tank with 541+, if I remember correctly. I can probably go in there in my tanking gear and grab a combat log from it later to confirm/disprove my memory. Then again, this isn't exactly progression raiding, but the thing to tae away from this would be (if it's true, and I'm not spewing stuff out of my... yeah) that Blizzard still uses bosses with a higher than normal crit chance for flavor.
