Warrior talent update from the PTR

Well, they increased the devastate damage bonus and base damage
I also hope they changed the sound of it to be DEVASTATING!

Protection
  • Devastate: Weapon damage increased to 60% and bonus per Sunder Armor on the target increased by 20%.
  • Shield Specialization: Now provides 5 rage on a block, dodge or parry instead of 2 rage on a block.

Now just make 1h weapon specialization into three points instead of five, like paladins.... and it will be glorious.

No way. Warriors can't get specialized with a weapon as easily as a paladin. We would have to be masters of martial combat for that... Oh wait. I mean...

In my opinion this isn't needed (at most 4 targets). If Blizzard decided to buff warrior aoe damage and tps, I would much prefer this over changes to thunderclap though.

Reason being, TC uses a GCD. Cleave doesn't.

While the devastate buff is certainly nice, we still need a bit more to bring us up to the dps level of the other tanks. I've already updated simulationcraft for the devastate change, and it looks to be a roughly 6% dps increase.

A good buff for sure.

That would be neat, probably won't see it though.

A possible solution for Cleave without making Arms/Fury potentially OP in AOE situations is to remove the Cleave target limit restriction only when wielding a 1h weapon. But again this just seems like another band aid fix on problem that needs to be reviewed in a much wider scope.

Or make Cleave talentable to increase the number of targets hit. Maybe changing the Fury talent to hit more instead of doing bonus damage, so we have a choice between Arms and Fury (infact, if this was the case I think Fury would get alot more attention since we'd get Improved Demo Shout as well).
