Okay, I know this might be a pretty specialized topic, and I'm honestly not sure if all that many people will be able to relate to it, but... are there any southpaws about who also happen to mouse left-handed who may be able to give me some tips?

I've been stuck click-tanking and keyboard turning since forever because hotkeys are rather a pain to work with due to placement... and that nifty G15 does me no good if I can't use the darn macro keys. As I've gotten more experienced tanking, though, I've noticed that it's definitely killing my response time... and I know that's going to really bite me in the rear in later raids, assuming I manage to make it that far. (Yeah, I'll admit it and my armory certainly shows it, I am a complete n00b.)

Any thoughts from my fellow southpaws? Or should I just bite the bullet, cope with the wrist pains and lern2mouserighty?

Although I'm right-handed and use it in conjunction with my G15 using something like the Logitech G13 would give you 24 hotkeys that you can place wherever you want (to the right side of your keyboard presumably).

It's pricey, but well built, the software is solid and the feel of the keys is much nicer than other pads (Ideazon Fang Keypad for example) that I've used in the past.

Well, I use arrows to move and all the numpad and these pgup, pgdown, end, home, ins and del keys, all with ctrl/shift/ctrl+shift modifiers, and gotta say it's quite comfortable. It offers for a LOT of keybinds in total, and is kinda easy to use it you bind it intuitively.

A pox upon right-handed mouse defaults I rebound my action bar slots to the keys on the number pad so I could use my right hand for keyboarding while the left stays on the mouse. That both freed up the mouse for moving instead of clicking and enabled quicker access to the buttons. I have the page up/down through action bars 1-4 function bound to the mousewheel (the up/down arrow keys would be a good alternative if you use the mousewheel for something else) and keep anything I might need to click on bar 5 as close to the left side of the screen as possible. Admittedly I wasted my life doing data entry and can therefore touch-type the NumPad in my sleep, so YMMV if you're not as used to the wilds of the right side of the keyboard.

Im left-handed and use wasd and typical key bindings. I taught myself to play games with my right hand on the mouse back while playing quake. [i used to mouse left handed and use the num pad]. I swapped when I kept having to play at a friends house and it was a pain to change the bindings and swap the mouse around. it was frustrating at first, but didnt take more than a week to retrain my muscle memory.

Hrm. The number pad might not be a bad idea; I'm actually fairly decent at 10-key. The G-13 looks like it could be a little weird (stick placement NOT where I'd want it) but POSSIBLY worth a try if I can train myself to game one-handed.

The stick is useless for WoW IMO. It's a digital input, not analog, so you have to move it in one of four directions - you don't get blended keys if you go diagonal.

I use it just for the extra hotkeys, plus the LCD display has some nice features (Ventrilo can show you who's talking for example).

I'd recommend against this one (see above - Ideazon was purchased by Steelseries).

It's very light, and the keys are "mushy" for lack of a better description. I switched to the G13 a few months back and never looked back.

I was also unable to get it to work under Win 7 (it showed up as a HID keyboard but the software couldn't find it).

I only briefly looked at the g13 but i didnt see a ambidexterity tag on it(might be tough)
