The Adds are the harder job anyway. Emalon is just tank and spank. | Neither is particularily hard but adds even favour shield tanks and Spell Reflect works, so it's kinda dumb to not put a Warrior on adds if you can cover for the armor debuff on Emo.

Its 5 rage on parry, block and dodges.. your bar fills up fast! | I'd well say it would, you could probably run through any low level instance absolutely burning with rage.

Don't hype it up too much! I want rage on avoidance to make it to live.

Redesigned. Any damage that takes the paladin below 35% health or below is reduced. This reduction applies only to the portion that pushes the paladin below 35% health (example: a paladin at 50% health takes a 40% hit; the first 15% hits as normal while the next 25% is reduced). In addition, once every 2 minutes an attack that would have killed the paladin will fail to kill, and instead set the paladin's health to 10/20/30% of maximum. | Well I failed at reading the notes I guess. I did not see the part that said it only applies to part of the damage. I thought it was the entire hit But the 2min "GS" is still total bull IMO. They can take a hit for 1,000,000,000^99 every 2min (w/o having to rely on anyone but themselves). Unless blizzard TOTALLY changes the way the hard bosses work, this is overpowered no matter how you look at it. My rage buff while tanking baby mobs doesn't seem that great in comparison.
I'm still not going to go gaga over rage-on-avoidance. We had it in the past with sanc. There was a difference to me, but I never had problems tanking w/o it. I would MUCH rather see some changes to survivability (block....).

Paladins do need an extra cooldown however. I both like, and dislike it. In someways I would prefer something that I control. On the other hand, it 'just works'. Which is rather nice.

I have no problem single tanking VoA 10 as a warrior.
But I also have a pocket healer, which makes it pretty easy as well.
I never noticed anything wrong with AE threat as a warrior.
For instance, on Thorim (25) tanking the arena, Usually its me and either a paladin or DK down there, and I generally hold more agro than both of them. But I work pretty hard down there...

I logged in last night (prot warr) and tweaked my gear for a block set (35% block) and did a Heroic UK run. On the trash, I was taking hardly any damage. The healer was pushing me to tank 2 pulls at once as the healing was so easy. It became a problem of AOE tanming aggro rather than rage management.
Farming the heroics & 10 mans for tokens for gear and gems will be easy. I can see a case for paladin tanks being in demand for badge farming runs.

BTW, what talents are you guys DROPPING to be able to spec into this new godly talent of ours? | That's the problem isn't it. You either have to give up rage efficiency (Focused rage) or talents that increases your TPS, all so you can have more rage to generate more TPS......

I guess they could just give Paladins Last Stand but the redesigned AD seems more creative. But this thread is about Warrior changes not Paladin. | The AD is fine, I just don't know how much paladins needed an immortality buff every 2min. If they wanted to give them a last stand, they should just give them one. Hell, every other tank has one now.
I brought it up because I get worried when I see warriors posting about how amazing our new changes are. I wouldn't want blizzard to start thinking we are happy with what we have in 3.2 overall.

Neither is particularily hard but adds even favour shield tanks and Spell Reflect works, so it's kinda dumb to not put a Warrior on adds if you can cover for the armor debuff on Emo. | Bold is why I prefer a Warrior on Emalon. And it's a little rude to bring duplicate tank classes to 25 man since you only need 2 (sometimes 3) tanks so still no adds for warriors.
PS. I've done both, Emalon is more 'fun' dancing in and out of the nova and a nice tank and spank to test my single target dps. Adds are more challenging since I'll keep 5 sunders on all 4 waiting for the supercharge, I mark the supercharged one (unless the RL happens to have DBM, cuz I don't use it), and picking up the new one is a positioning challenge unless you think your healers like seeing the tank take 7 unavoided hits in a row when he turns his back to grab the new add.

For tanking really easy content, I'm sure it's great. For the hard stuff? Who knows, we will never find out if paladin changes go live as-is. They will be tanking everything. | I already tank everything.

glad the issue has been addressed and has fixed warrior tanking so to speak, especially the rage issue, rage starvation needs to be eradicated

BTW, what talents are you guys DROPPING to be able to spec into this new godly talent of ours? | Easy. Focused Rage. 3 points to reduce rage cost is kind of needless considering the massive increase Shield Spec grants.
I specced out of it on the PTR and just had an incredibly steady supply. I went into Stockades and body aggroed 7 or 8 mobs and was at 100 rage in seconds

I think the OP greatly overestimates the buffs to Paladin tanks in the Patch Notes.
Ghostcrawler posted that AD is bugged on the PTR. It's making Paladins look much better than if it were working properly. | You are incorrect: I did not mention paladin buffs at all, nor being worried about them. The person who replied to me did.
As I said in my reply to him, I'm not concerned on any level with what any other class is getting in 3.2 - I'm not in a position where a tanking spot could be taken from me.
And yes for all the "THE SKY IS FALLING, PALLIES ARE LEET" talk, AD is bugged atm and it won't be nearly as potent come the patch going live.

Some of these posts exemplify the "There's no pleasing some people" mentality.
If you pulled 1000 Warrior tanks into a room, stood before a podium and asked "Whats the thing you hate most about warrior tanking?" I would wager you a very large sum that the overwhelmingly majority answer would be rage. Its a mechanic that is adequate at best and broken at worst. The idea that we have to take extreme amounts of damage (tanks are supposed to take less damage, duh) to even be able to tank properly is absurd and seeing as our rage generation from white hits with a 1H are worthless.. something had to be done. And something was.
Getting 5 rage every dodge, block or parry absolutely, systematically kills our rage issues while tanking. What most any serious warrior could agree to be the most inconsistent and unreliable aspect of our class is being fixed. No, it doesn't help the prot warrior trying to loldps a boss that is pulled off of her (or him) but it wasn't intended to. When you are tanking, you will finally be rewarded for avoiding damage.. not punished as we are now.
People need to quit turning every positive discussion about the changes we get into a "But wut teh pallies r getting is better!" bitch session. Jesus, don't be the kid who hates your christmas presents because you think someone else's presents are better. Nobody likes that kid.

I'm pleased with it, personally. Now if only Block was a bit more useful, and the T8 4-set bonus was turned into a Glyph...
Not that I have any room for it currently. But it would be a very nice option indeed.

Taaryn, I am sorry if you feel that way about my statements. I am talking from an end-game, hardmode tanking perspective. Rage on avoidance really doesn't do anything in most of the situations that matter most to people focused on killing the hardest bosses the fastest. I can see rage on avoidance helping maybe on Hodir hard if you get really lucky/unlucky with avoidance off the bat (and probably only if you managed to keep focused rage as well), but in most of the hardest encounters it won't make any difference. I cannot think of any other situations where this will really help us out in the hardest of encounters. You said it was an easy choice for you to drop focused rage for the new change. That might even hurt your rage generation on most single-target bossfights. That would be terrible for raiding, if it did. Personally, I am more pleased with the change to devastate than this shield spec change.
TLDR: If you don't tank hardmodes and are more of a casual tank or 5man tank, this change might be really great for you. But for serious raiding, it is not going to change much of anything.
