Darkmoon Card: Greatness

I'm wondering about this! ( Darkmoon Card: Greatness - Item - World of Warcraft )

Assuming you're a Druid and took Agi or a plate tank and took Str. How do you think this would compare overall to existing trinkets?

For example, on a Druid;

90 agi gives slightly more dodge (about .12%) higher than the Valor Medal badge trinket (which is an obvious favourite) and then the 300 proc gives 7.62% (compared to 8.5 on the valor medal) --- but with an overall uptime of 25% on intervals versus 10% controllable, which one wins?

Of course, you could always just wear both. =D (I'd have 40% dodge with that on!)

Conversely, 90 Str with 300 Str / 25% is appetizing for a Plate tank, but likely not as much, huh? Would be wild for aoe blockfests though.

it's basically an amazing sbv trinket for warriors, and some ap to boot. it's definitely a very strong threat trinket for warriors if you grab the str one.

I don't know how the Darkmoon Faire works, but the wowhead page says the quest is Alliance. Is this available for the Horde?

Why, o why is there not a stamina version? Epic fail.

Still, the STR version is pretty nice....45 BV (195 BV on proc)((+ talent modifiers)) but the trinket from heroic Violet Hold with its 440BV on use.....

AP is swell and all and doing some DPS is great but we can faceroll and hold aggro these days.

Darkmoon Faire quests and rewards are for both factions. The faire alternates between Mulgore, Elwynn, and Terokkar - it's usually up the first week of each month.

To get this trinket, you'll need to collect the Ace, 2, 3, 4 ,5 6, 7 and 8 of Nobles cards (there are other decks). You combine the cards into The Nobles Deck, which can be turned in at Darkmoon Faire for the trinket. Collecting the cards is the trick. They drop from various mobs, with the higher cards usually dropping from instance bosses.

Scribes now have a recipe to create a random card for a Northrend deck of cards.

Actually as of right now (last I heard) the only way to get northrend cards if from scribes.

On my server the mats for 1 card run about 500 gold and the cards are completely random.

We've put together a new page in the Guides section that has details on all of the Darkmoon Faire decks you can obtain in Northrend. As of now, the only way to access these cards is either creating them yourself with Darkmoon Card of the North -- a recipe you can train with an Inscription skill of 375 -- or from other scribes. Expect to pay a premium for these cards due to how expensive they are to make material-wise (especially right now).

Oh this is a fantastic trinket for druid tanks. I wants one I wouldn't worry whether its perfect, because it depends on what you're tanking. The random nature of the creation process (by scribes) may mean you're better off looking regularly on the AH for them, than paying someone to craft for you - because its not a guaranteed craft.

Ideally, you'll have a bunch of trinkets in your bags that you'll wear at different times for different purposes. Even the word trinket, from an RP pov, suggests some sort of magic toy you use for special purposes.

Being a warrior. I dont see the need for the trinket as far as tanking.. there is no issue with threat so might just be good for a dps unles they come out with a Stam one
