Horacio what are you doing for the Eternal Fire? I havent found a good source for that. The earth/shadow drop from mining Saronite but i'm coming up short on fire.

The Wailing Winds - NPC - World of Warcraft in Storm Peak (in a cave northwest of Thunderfall) have a nice drop rate on Crystallized Fire.

Yeah, I got quite a bit off of the Titanium nodes but I have since run out. The fire elementals yielded some but to make my Titansteel last night I had to buy 3 Crys. Fire.

I've got 5 pieces of it so far and plenty of Saronite. Just need level 80 and some Orbs and I'll be gtg.

I am currently at 445 sitting on 5 (soon to be 6) Titansteel Bars and the mats to finish out my 16 needed (making the helm to play with). I am also lacking in the fires lol. I guess it is time to start farming. At least I have time to waste waiting for my titansteel cooldown.

I am also sitting at 445. Burning my Titansteel cool downs is about all I can do at the moment, I can't see burning the saronite to get 5 skill points just to hit 450. Its kind of strange that you don't have to be max level to craft the epic items. So 440 is the new 450?

Nah. 440 for usefulness, 450 for epeen. 2 different goals to reach for 2 different types of players.

Or to simply be ready in case a 450 skill pattern every drops. It's not always about epeen. Personally, I just can't stand not having it maxed out...OCD on my part.

Oh, don't get me wrong. I'll be 450 ASAP. I can't stand to not be max level, I plan on doing it through crafting the epic pieces to use or sell though. From what I can tell, most of crafting professions are having a similar issue though, most regular craftables go green at 440. I'm not sure this makes sense, its like Blizzard forgot to add recipes across the board for 435, 440 skill level.

Ok... trust me or not but I've just levelled straight from 375 to 409 with one item, and it's still orange...

Plans: Reinforced Cobalt Chestpiece - Items - WOWDB

Is it bugged, or normal ? I mean, 34 crafts and still orange Oo.

*edit* Turned yellow at 415, thats 40 points with one item .... and it still gives me points, I think I'll farm tons of cobalt until it turns grey...

I am not convinced by this guide - I had it to hand as I levelled up to 431 and found it often suggested yellow items. For example, the titanium trio of rod, chain and spike turn yellow at 425. The mats reported will be considerable underestimates because of this. I suspect it was written without in game testing.

People's mileage may vary, but I am reluctant to expend precious titanium on levelling. But that leaves me with the savage/ornate hauberk/helm/legs, at level 430, costing 14 saronite (the eternal earth is easy). And I suspect they will go yellow at 435.

The reinforced cobalt idea is an excellent one, but what I ended up mainly done is craft things I will use early enough to get a skill up. The tempered saronite set, shields, gemming stuff and daunting items will appeal to most tanks. A PvP set may be good for Lake Wintergrasp. As a paladin, I will pick up some spell power stuff for the odd healing assignment. Making stuff for guildies and other friends also helps make the grind more bearable.

I did 50 points out of 52 Reinforced Cobalt Chestpieces, and they are lvl 77 req so they give tons of enchanting mats when DE'd. Now I'am around 443 forge and farming tons of saronite for Dauting items

Crafted some keys too, they are solid BS points.

I suggest farming the plans for reinforced cobalt chestpiece as soon as you can learn it (375), it's a quick and by far the cheapest way to hit 420 (oh snap!). Yes they do turn yellow at 415 but they continue giving you one guaranteed point in skill in every combine as yellow (at least in my case). They drop frequently too, I killed at least 5 escavators in Sholazar Basin and it dropped. If you're too low level to get these, try to get the other plans of the "set" first.

There is a spot in southeast of Lake Wintergrasp that you can farm crystalized fire. You can also farm crystalized air in most of Wintergrasp's southern area.

Try to do that when your faction controls Wintergrasp, so then you can kill the Revenants for extra drops.
