Omg. To whoever posted about duoing Heigan for an Hour. Props to you.

as for me: Kinda petty.

But after being scared to death to tank (OMG everything will be all my fault) to being a main tank in my guild has been an accomplishment for me.

But as far as a personal story that just made my night.

I was running H HoL one night with my guildies and my healer was just out of it. We were doing one of the pulls after the third boss fight where there are two dwarf dudes and the Vanguard and off the bat we lose the healer and the dps starts going down slowly after. I managed to get the mobs down with one DPS remaining but immediately after the two patting Vanguards find the other DPS. He's down two seconds later. Now its just me with two Vanguards at near max health. I'm a pally tank. Knowing when to pop my cooldowns, lay on hands, bubble and heal, trinkets, etc. I soloed the mob while my party lay dead watching. I drink. I rez.

The next pull (we're now crossing the room to get to the remaining two Vanguards for the regular daily achieve) and I pull the three dwarfs in the center of the room. Instantly, my group dies. Whirlwind. Lightning Strike or whatever. Whatever happened, my DPS and healer were dead at the start of the fight. I take those mobs down too. Solo. Impressed the crap out of my party.

It was my glory moment. It may not sound like much, but I know that months earlier I would have been dead as soon as the healer died.

Obviously this happened a long time ago (pre-WotLK), but it was still a proud moment. I had reached 70 a while back, gotten some gear, but had only a few pieces of tank gear from Kara, a Gladiator Shield Wall, Grom'tor's Charge, etc. - I could tank in Karazhan, but I was definitely an off-tank.

Anyway, a guild member asked me to help him run a regular Sethekk Halls so he could gear and level up. I agreed, and we pugged it through to the last boss. On the last boss, the teleporting arcane explosion guy (I forget his name as I type this), we get him down to about 20% or so, and it's just me left. I managed to solo the boss down from 20% to 0%, swapping to Battle Stance and spamming Execute, blowing all my CD's and pots to stay alive... it was a glorious moment. One of the group members had released already, because he had thought for sure it was a wipe. Needless to say, the group was impressed, and it was definitely a feel good tanking experience.

My raidforce decided to make lastnight a new raidnight for the sole purpose of killing Yogg-saron, finally. And we did on our third attempt for that night.

Now, in the light of our success, we decided on going for the first time to Trial of the Crusader, and we cleared the whole place. Now, that place may be easier than most, but man alive... I think just about everyone I was raiding with was ecstatic. And it's been a while since I felt so good about raiding.

First Mimiron 10 man Hard Mode kill on Sept. 11, 2009. Frantic and hectic, and in the end, the only two people left alive were me (Prot warrior), and the other tank (also a Prot warrior).

What made it even more memorable was that my Achievement log reads:

Firefighter - 9/11/2009

Now *that's* meaningful.

I have quite a few personal achievements, some more than others:

Glory of the Hero achievement (Watch him die, I tanked the whole room and every1 nuked apart from the healer, took loads of wipes)

Tanked Flame Levi on foot for 20 seconds

Recently did Ignis first try, and was my first time as MT on him, and I didn't get a DPS shout at me or spam my /w.

Realm first ToC 5 hc clear.

2 manning heigan (of course, what tank doesn't find that a bit fun with all the newbs you are teaching saying in guild chat that you own, bless them, if only they knew how easy it is.)

6 manned 4 horsemen (10 man mode ofc)

35.5k hp unbuffed (with 24% dodge, 20% parry and 27% block. I like to think myself as a malygos tank

, love that big dragon)

Oculus hc final boss, top DPS, damage and healing done all in 1

(I spammed touch of the nightmare and just kept up 3 stacks of poison. The ruby drakes didn't take much damage at all, they were rotating damage with martyrdom and evasive.

...and of course the best one:

Healers /w you saying well done, and saying that you are easy to heal. Praise is FTW no matter what anyone says.

23 man kill on Faction champions normal (Guild progression kill ^^)

Running CoS hc in less time then VH hc takes (beating personal records ftw!)

Not much to add then this. its not much but still a personal best for myself ^^ especially on 3fps in boss fights hehe

Getting my 10 man drake and solo tanking ach's like Firefighter, Knock Knock Knock, Vezax and 1 light were loads of fun! Lets hope IC's bosses pose some level of enjoyment for us tanks!

Well then, here I go.

Soloed the last boss of H AN from the last burrow (around 20-30% to 0), tanked both the timed boss and Mal'ganis...twice, the first time which I soloed Mal'ganis from 50% after the timed boss killed everyone.

Almost have 40k health self-buffed (though I could have it if i just switch my legacy of thunder for my peacekeeper, but I like my mace expertise and I like being unhittable), over 50% avoidance...though it seems to be a standard for raiding tanks, but I still consider it an achievement (due to the fact that I can only get my items through emblems of conquest...stupid living on the other side of the world).

Was doing my 3rd pug of Ony 10m last night.
Thought it would go well because 3 of the 10 were from Avast (one of the top guilds on Frostmourne), and because the OT looked like he wouldn't drop when he had two whelps on him.

Trash clear was perfect, died super fast. Get up to ony, one person asks whats new and gets told. Everyone is ready!

Engage ony, tanking away. All's going well and soon enough she's down to 63%.
DPS is still going all out on Ony as she walks to the other side of the room. 55% not bad.
Wait ... stacking? Nope. Whelps ... many whelps ... everywhere!

I frantically try to pick them all up while trying to bubble the shadow priest, taunt off the two trees and try keep myself up. Rogue dies instantly because he attacks some whelps that have not yet been tanked.
Two more people die, two more bres are used.

Whelps died pretty damn fast (the priest is hitting 7k dps as an ALT!) and everyone starts hitting the Guard.
I'm watching Ony's hp and notice she's still at 55%. Ask the ranged to get on her, that she only drops at 40%. A few minutes later she's down to 54% and we have a few more people down from either whelps, the aoe guard attack or deep breath. After a few more seconds I just sit down, take a few crits and fall over.
Raid wipe

Second try, we buff up and get ready to go, with a few suggestions from me on what should be done this time.

Run in and engage, tanking away. Her HP drops to 60% pretty damn fast but by the time she's managed to fly into the air her HP is at around 48%! Holy shazbot!
First lot of whelps spawn and they start going all over the place. But then everyone seems to click and run towards us two tanks.
Consecration does it's thing and all the whelps are being tanked. Whelps died in about 10 seconds and then it was all ranged onto Ony and all melee onto the guard.
Only the s.priest was killing the whelps, we had a hunter and a boomkin going all out on Ony and by the time the whelps had dropped her HP was down to 41%. A second or two later and I was running into position to start tanking her for phase 3, with a guard beating on my backside.

Ony's in position trying to rip me a new hole, I've got a guard beating on my face and everyones alive. Guard falls over after a few seconds and Ony starts having a tanty and fears everyone. <3 fear ward!
Bam there goes blood lust, wings and whatever else people have to put out the hurt.
One more fear later and I say in raid chat "you guys are awesome!". Just as I press enter the OT accidentally taunts and Ony turns to the raid just as she casts Flame Breath!!

Thankfully we only lost one person, but she was finally dead! Wooo!

Managed to get 3 10m Ony achievements in one go, in a pug!

the past week or so ive been feeling that i have been slipping on my dps rotation as arms. i was used to always getting top 3 every fight, but lately ive been slipping down the meters some. a couple of very nice upgrades from trial 10 and 25 but yet my dps didnt show as big of an improvement like i thought.

well, last night i hit the 13th spot on xt for american arms warriors, 20th on kolo, and missing a few other bosses top 20 by only a few hundred dps on wmo. it really gave me my confidence back seeing that im back (or never really left) the level i should be. beating my peers and some of the best dps warriors in the country gives me the motivation to keep working and striving to do the best i can every fight.

Finally got Death's Demise, 25 man, tonight. Month's behind of course, but Coliseum distracted us for a few weeks, and the FoK nerf didn't help either.

One of the rare encounters that I can consider truly challenging to tank well, phase 3 of of yogg zero I mean. Single target tanking on boss mob is easy, most bosses are very easy to tank and somewhat boring. Tanking dozens of mobs, rotating taunts, moving the pack around, keeping them in front of you, not going insane, timing cooldowns properly, interrupting, dealing with the horrid camera angles, and yoggs way too large character model that guardians simply must run through. All that, packed into 3 crazy minutes is a challenge.

Really epic kill too, 4th beacon had just gone off, all the mobs are healing, and both tanks call 'out of cooldowns', healer cooldowns were gone too. Just about when I expected to die, achievement spam, and everyone in the guild starts getting whispers from random people gratzing us

I know we are coming late to the party, but we finally got 10 man TOC Heroic down.

Interestingly enough, because of some internal guild politics, we could not form one really strong group. Instead, we were forced to make two equal groups to progress through the event.....

While I believe that it slowed us down, it also resulted in this. Our first group nailed A Tribute to Skill last night at about 10pm server..... and the second group (mine) got Anub down (no tribute) with 15 pulls left.

So we go from nobody getting through the event to 20 people in one night. Alls well that ends well.
