First of all i would like to say hi to all of you fellow tanks I`ve been reading these boards for quite some time, now it`s time to step out of the shadows
Me being proud - there`s couple of things..
First of all i am very proud to be part of an amazing guild that i am in currently, and hold an MT rank in it. Awesome, mature and helpful community with some very hard recruitment rules
Things that made me most proud of everything was getting my t4 shoulders, chest, and legs, that i use for tanking, and being assigned as a raid leader for my guild - and to lead them through Karazhan from the very beginning to the very Nightbanei`sh end.
And yes, i am a wall'o texter
cheers, nice to meet ya'll

My guild (Mizu of Alleria) walked into TK this past friday for the first time and downed Void Reaver on our 3rd attempt, then went and made 3 very sollid attempts on Solarian. Easily the most exciting moment ive ever felt in any video game, ever. GO MIZU!!

i am very proud of tanking halazzi (the lynx boss in ZA) alone, from 100% to 3%... the other tank died in first hit, cause i think we couldnt place ourselves on top of each other and frankly everybody thought "here comes the wipe"... but with the masterful healing, and undeniable help of badge of tenacity and moroes pocket watch i took only 1 of the killer saber lashes... it was very exhausting tbh, cause i had to catch the lynx spirit when it spawns, and if i miss it, there was no one else to catch it etc. i died at 3% and dps worked him out... especially our dps warr made a miracle out of execution ...

Made a second foray into ZA with my guild (and a couple we had to PUG). We’re still gearing people up to Kara level so I wasn’t sure how well it would go, and while we had 3 healers, one was a newly dinged 70 with +800 heals! We had a few wipes on trash just working things out, and we attempted the Bear boss. Wiped at 30% on the first go. Second go, I went down at 40% during a silence and got a brez, other tank went down at 5% and, healers were ooming to the extreme but we pushed that last few % and got him down.
I was really pleased to down a “progression” boss with a mostly guild group, I think it gave us all a bit of a confidence boost.

I have 2 Epic moments I remember:
1) I started our guild when I was lvl 50 mostly to gather my friends at the same place. Now we've moved from totally newbies to a solid Kara team with me as MT. Last run we cleared Kara except Netherspite with just 2 wipes (one was a pet pulled lots of mobs in the ballroom outside Moroes, the other was one failed attempt on Illhoof cause of wrong tactics). The tricky hard-hitting Nightbane went down in first try! That was a thrilling evening!
2) I love my warrior and never considered levelling a dps char, or respec to dps every now and then. I've started more and more to like the "fake-fury" dual-wielding Prot warrior with some dps talents such as Anger Management and Imp Heroic Strike. This moment was me as a Prot warrior doing a WSG run, and I totally owned two undead rogues in gladiator gear, without a pocket healer! First feared them both, got the first one down to 50% during fear and afterwards kept slicing him until he was finished off with a nice Execute. After that I stunned the other one and sliced him to pieces as well. Damn that was funny |

A few that stand out for me:
* Shade of Aran and myself last ones standing going toe to toe @ 1% each and winning.
* Dropping Al'ar during the enrage with sheild wall and last man standing saving the day.
* Completing H shattered halls second go with 13min left on the clock after being told countless times warriors are usually epic fails in there.

Well, my warrior Huddson is actually an alt of mine. My guild is struggling in Sunwell due to turnover and folks deciding to stop raiding, but we still clear BT each week.
Recently we found ourselves short a FR tank for Illidan. I had Huddson who has tanked lots of alt KZ runs and a few ZA runs and pretty much has been limited to 5-mans. So the GM asked me if I thought I could be ready to be a fire tank for Illidan the next night... oooooohhhhh sheet!
So, I bought my FR badge gear, scrounged a few pieces of crafted gear (put on my SMV FR neck, no FR ring for meh as I have never killed Magtheridon on this character lol!) and got my FR up to where it needed to be and kept myself defense capped.
The raid rolls around and I'm in for Mother, IC, and Illidan on my tank, crapping my pants because I've never tanked the IC fight either, they tell me what to do, which is just handle the rogue, which I do, with only one minor mistake, from which nobody dies thanks to intervene... whee!
Then up the stairs to Illidan... put on my FR gear, check my stats against the other FR tank, I seem to have equivalent health and I know my resistance is capped with my chrom. flask and the pally aura so... I'm good to go.
First attempt - I'm REALLY crapping my pants now... I'm VERY worried about my threat and I'm supposed to be tanking the one to die first (no druid tank for us)... We've had others try to step in on alts and have had wipe after wipe as the other folks try to get used to the pathing they have to do and avoiding the eye beams and all that other stuff... of course... I get the first eye beam... I manage to avoid it - whew. Next eye blast is on my side too... oh man I'm panicing... avoid it as well... thank god... then... boom... the other FR tank dies due to a healing mishap and the "stop healing and die in a fire" call goes up in vent - ~sigh~.
Second attempt - other FR tank dies immediately - dunno how, dunno why... whatever... ~sigh~
Third attempt - goes off without a hitch, my elemental dies, nobody pulls aggro, healers aren't OOM... I didn't die, nobody else died from my elemental, I avoided beams, I did a good job! We kill Illidan that attempt and I am practically exhausted, but pleased as hell nonetheless.

Our guild is in Sunwell, but does older content frequently on alts. My warrior started out as an alt project, but is set to become my Main in WotLK - just having so much fun tanking, as it's always been one of those sub-conscious longings while playing a rogue for the last 3 years.
Anyway, on topic: The night I hit 70, I wound up in a pick-up Karazhan raid. The MT was a skilled protection paladin, but we were having issues with healing on Nightbane, so for the 3rd attempt they asked if I'd try to tank while he assisted with healing.
A few minutes later, I have my first claim to fame for having successfully tanked Nightbane before having set foot in a single heroic. Special thanks to Berg's and Polar's gear guides.
Not even two weeks later, I end up tanking Lurker/Leo/Vashj in a guild-alts + pickup-friends SSC Vial-run. Picked up T5 helm as a reward as well.
It's been a fun month, and I'm loving the change of pace. Eagerly awaiting 3.0 after playing with the new Prot tree on Beta. I'm afraid my poor 4pc-T6 rogue will sadly be relegated to a flower-picker in Wrath.

Soloed Omor the Unscarred from 21% to dead after bane + felhounds had overrun my party. Had an angel healing me for a little bit of that. Blew last stand, pot, dropped to arms stance at 20%, blew retaliation and spammed execute.
Sadly after dropping Omor the last 3 puppies killed me.

So, it's a small success but a success nonetheless.
I logged in last night and decided to answer a 'LF tank' call. I whispered the party leader and asked if they wanted an arms or prot spec warrior. They wanted prot. I'm arms. I thought that would be the end of it. Got a party invite and was summoned to do either BF or ramps. Threw on my shield and sword, all my 'tanking' gear (basically anything that gives me extra stam or defence in lieu of crit or AP), some buff food, my scrolls, and boom, made it to about 8.5K health (I'm lvl 64). Lead was passed to me and off we went to BF. It was my *first* time tanking any OL instances. The times I've been in has been with lvl 70 guildmates and we've waltzed through. To add insult to injury, I was /pkicked from a Ramps party cause I aggroed half the instance by not watching where I was going. I hadn't marked up targets before, wasn't sure how well I was going to be able to hold aggro, and so on.
Time elapsed: 1 hour.
Number of wipes: 0
Feeling at the end: Priceless.
I had successfully managed to tank an entire instance with a group of lvl 65-ish toons where we didn't wipe, no-one nearly died, most of us (except me) got some decent loot, and we all went away with an extra 75000exp in our pockets.
Happy days |

Great work Thalum!
I had a particularly good weekend. I took my alt priest to a Kara PUG on Friday, we blitzed the whole instance (over-geared pally tank ftw), only skipping Aran and Spite due to some silly wipes, it was great fun and I picked up a nice staff from ‘bane and some T4 gloves.
On my main, I joined a Naxx PUG in which we downed Razuvious and Gothik which was great fun! We had a good few goes at the Four Horseman and weren’t able to pull it off with our 4 tanks, we had trouble with the marks, but I was very stoked to see the place and may get back before it resets to try some other bosses.
I got into a Gruul’s PUG that evening (first time there), and we got High King and Gruul in two pulls each! I got to tank both of them which had me pretty chuffed. We tried to continue onto Mags but the group started to fall apart and we couldn’t get down. I picked up my T4 shoulders though!

First time i managed to get a lock with improved imp buff in my group and reached 25k health! (25068 to be exact)
Thankfully we decided i didn't need a restoration druid in my group so they left me with the lock for the rest of the raid to enjoy my health bar looks! |

This is a two-part success post.
First of all, my first Title acquisition.
Second, my acquisition of the elusive Aldor Legacy Defender. (Already got the ZA shield too, but the extra defense and Hit is sexy)

Last night in a Kara run, (I main tank and have some T4 and badge gear) after equipping all my DPS gear I managed to pull out a little over 1,000 DPS in the Shade of Aran fight. My personal best! For a prot warrior with some purple gear I was rather big headed the rest of the night. |

i tanked bear boss 2 weeks in a row solo. That was fun. Tanked several bear runs and cleared 5/5 ssc, 4/5 hyjal, and 3/4 TK as the MT. Not that big of a deal but if only you knew the people i was working with |
