With the nerfs to the siege area bosses, the entry level has gone down to decent levels (in the first week i was struggling in 10man with BiS 25man gear). I wont quote actual numbers but if you're decked out in ilvl 200 gear for 10-man, you should be fine. I find hp & armor more valuable stats when progressing than other stats.
We had our freshly geared tank with naxx10/25/heroics mix with 29K hp, 23K armor 19ish avoidance/mitigation percentages perform well enough in both 10man & 25 (as offtank)

I don't have a question, I only wanted to thank Tankspot for the clear and visable strategy films about boss entcounters. The voice overs are great and therefor I want to thank Ciderhelm and Lord. Our guild uses your video's a lot and we are doing fine in Ulduar, not fast but steady progress.
Kind regards,
Wezel

New to the site but i got two quick questions. some times taunts come back with an immun message on kologarn. this during one of his moves that he becomes immune? Also a DK tank friend of mine seems to suffer from resists to the taunt they use. any ideas what to stack to fix it? i dont know if its classed as a spell or what

| | | Hello Ciderhelm
Woops..posted a thread accidentally..Lol. Hadn't seen this. I've recently been trying out World of Warcraft due to several of my friends simply begging me i get the game and come raiding. So, i've recently picked up a few tricks on a private server and was wondering if you or Lore could stop by that server so i might be able to chat with you about DPS requirements or possibly a Healer. Do get back to me at your earliest convience, i realize how busy you two are with Ulduar, Yogg- Saron and such. Thanks for hearing me out, and im hopeful on that server visit. PS: i can give you the server realmlist if you do decide to come by

Couldn't you just... Y'know... Ask here? Lore and Ciderhelm, exalted though they are, are not the sole repositories of all knowledge and wisdom about this game.

Taunt has diminishing returns now.
Basically, taunt now gives an invisible, stacking, 20 second buff to who you taunt. Each stack makes new taunts less effective, and at three stacks he goes immune.

Does anyone know if Glyph of Hamstring stacks with Improved Hamstring? If so is it additive or multiplicative?

First off, thank you to everyone at Tank Spot. Your voice overs help me SO much when trying to learn new bosses. You guys (and possibly girls) ROCK!
My question is what add on is it that makes those two half circles in the center of the UI of the videos? The red and blue ones. I like the look of it and want to try it out in raids.

Shield bash is a like any other attack - it can miss, be dodged, be parried, be blocked.
In practice however channeling mobs/players can't block, dodge of parry so all that really matters is if you miss or not.

Does anyone have a link to the formula used by: TankSpot - Calculator ?
The only page I've found is this: TankSpot - Effective Health ; which I don't think matches the calculations used in the Calculator.
(tried the theorycraft forums but couldn't find an answer there)

Why/How does the Effective Health and Total Damage Reduction Calculator consider Block Value, but not Block Rate?

| | | a small question about Parry !
So im no a computer head but i play wow and tank for my guild , i was recently told that aside from deminishing returns that PARRY was bad becaue bosses gain parry haste from Me parrying a attack ...this seems wierd to me i thought that I gain parry haste when i parried a attack and the boss gains hatse when he parries ...i know this seems like asilly question but i though that was why we tryed to capp expertise to stop dodges / parry and reduce the bosses parry haste ?

So basically parry is not good to be gemmed because of the DR, but its good to have since it helps you all the way when it procs.
