Taith 3 - Prot Like Me

Hey TankSpot, this thread may be pointless, as the movie has been out awhile. Some of you may have seen it, but I forgot to post it here when it initially came out. So, for your enjoyment, here is my third Prot PvP movie.

btw, what kinda set up did you have to pull for that 67k shield slam?

I'll try to map out the math but I don't see 67k coming up anywhere lol.

((((2760 + 400)*2)+990)*2.20)*1.3 (berserking buff?) / 0.9 (enemy zerking buff) / .95 (death wish) / .8 recklessness = 30565. My math is probably wrong but How the heck?! OHHHH, flag carrier debuff? so double that = 60k maybe? hrm.

do you wear all pve? part pvp? or mostly pvp for your fights?

I'm trying to figure out the best medium I can get for my arena teams (obviously 2s, 3s, 5s will vary anywhere from a little to a lot) but so far I've been running 500 resil and only 4-5 pve pieces so my sbv is only at 1800 or so. I've still managed to pop 8k+ shield slams on players in BGs, but obviously in arenas with resilience levels as high as they are, i average 5k-6k. Any tips? (I know i probably sit in def stance too much is probably my biggest fault)

I get like 2500 block value so I'm capped when I pop my BV trinket, then I fill the rest of the slots with PvP gear for crit and such.

pft yeah right, they're overpriced AND still selling because everyone is getting ready for Anub adds. I'd rather just go 15 man naxx for em.

I'd like to see an armory profile or something similar to what you equip/spec for your prot pvp.

15-man Naxx, eh?

Really awesome video. Makes me desperately want to try serious prot PvP. The editing was also nicely done!

Glorious video.

I dabble in arms pvp, and have since I got a betrayer of humanity. Every time I pvp, I think what I could do if I still had my protection toolkit, but am a little nervous about making the leap due to the loss of burst-dps. As it is, I've mastered the simple stance swaps for an interrupt, but I always wish I had more.

Mostly I run into situations where I say "if I had SW..." or "if heroic throw had a silence..." makes me wonder how much I'll say "I wish I had bladestorm." It's vids like this that make me want to give pvprot another shot.

soooo, i tried pvprot for about a week after seeing this video thinking it was gonna be the same dmg as arms and way better survivability, however...

i realized i suck at pvprot. it's completely different from my arms playstyle. i couldn't even kill a resto druid, so i went back to arms (i like swinging a bigass mace anyways).

but, i gotta give props to you cause you make it look very easy in the movie.

it definitely takes a different play style, you have burst, incredible burst in fact as pvprot, but it's more spaced out than arms. And with no MS debuff you need to basically take a person from 100%-0 otherwise they'll get enough heals up it'll be wasted, it's all about that stun lock/silence/spell lock sequencing that does it. Gearing is very different too, takes varying skill sets. the added survivability is great though.
