| | | Problems with Ignis (logged)
Hey guys, me and some firends made this guild, and we have started last week doing ulduar 10, we are having a few problems with Ignis, we wiped 3 times and called it the night yesterday and will be trying again later today, here is the log
what do you guys think? are we lacking coordination (newly formed guild)? are we lacking dps? heals?

Three attempts isn't long enough to really say, honestly. It's a hard fight at first.
Some of your DPS need to step it up a bit (the two warlocks and the warrior). Your tank Jozeh is also not putting out very big numbers.
Your healers are struggling with the damage on the two tanks - your MT died through lack of healing, not unusual damage. One of the two should focus the tanks while the other heals up the raid after flame vents. You might want to consider bringing a third healer if you can - I think just the two of them will struggle with stuff like Kologarn later in the instance.
It's not entirely clear what strategy you're using. There might be things there that can be improved.

Last week we also gave it 3 tries, wasnt logged though. We had our best attempt at 7% with 3 healers, and burning down the boss (even lacking some dps, we had 2-3 doing 2k dps -.-)
We will try again with 3 healers (if we have any available) and give it a try.
We have tried a few strategies: - I tanked the boss in the water, having Jozeh OT the adds and trying to stay next to me so Narguile (Resto shaman) could heal us both with chain heal, and all dps on boss, while notaku heals the raid.
we also tried like this, I took the boss around in a square like this, this is whate i posted in our guilds forum... I tank him like that, moving him to next corners once he is about to cast "flame thrower" then OT Jozeh puts adds in BBQ, and Kenais (dps dk) DeathGrips adds to water, and Stillenacht(warlock) kills them. - Similar strategy to above one, but instead of walking him in square, i walk him from one side to the other (left and right).
Should I keep going with strategy one, or get the nr. 3 to work out so we can also do it in 25 man when time comes?
Edit - Question about runing: I am runing to next spot once he starts casting the flame, can i turn my back to him once he casts it to go faster to the next spot thus not getting hit by fire, or am i do right by moonwalking?

Reason: question about runing

Seems like you guys have the right strat down. Definitely kill adds asap since Ignis damage is pretty high to begin with. But once you get add management down the fight is just wash-rinse-repeat.
It would be nice to get your locks higher dps-wise. I'm assuming they're having trouble with flame jets locking them out. Some experience with the fight should fix that.
One note though... why is your warrior Cleaving that's worthless on this fight.

he was cleaving cause at first we tried with all adds up, and just spank the boss... that didnt work well..
we just had almost 2 hours of wipe on him, we are having trouble on the adds...
we are gonna skip him this week, so we can try some other bosses :/
next week, we will try with pally tanking, and I (DK) taking care of adds (Taunt and Deathgrip) that might work a bit better.

To do all adds up you really need the dps to kill him within 4-5 adds, plus a tank with very good gear, it's slower but far safer to kill the adds and "kite" the boss in a square at least until you outgear the encounter.
To "pop" the adds you need to do a single hit/spell of 5k (not sure about the number), as a warrior tank that can be tricky but casters should be able to do that, they just need to know that it has to be a single hit. Also your OT should only taunt them as they start to run, they drop agro when they turn molten, normally stand still for a bit and then run off (after a healer normally), if the OT stands in the water, waits for them to run and then taunts (if you taunt too early it doesn't work) as soon as they're in the water, he should run out and let someone else "pop" them.

We struggled with the square tactics at first. The one we used for our first kills is described here: Ignis Strat It requires less movement in general and gave us a kill. Nowadays we just zerg it I admit!

we had the OT take the scorch to the left instead of right, that was the only difference.

Haven't been in since 3.2.2 but unless they have changed it back they don't have to be one shotted was changed ages ago. I often belted them to explosion myself because mage was in pot .. you take damage as they explode but nothing obscene.
