Boss Health Mod

Sorry if I have this in the wrong forum.

I am a Shaman healer and often find that I click over to the boss to find out it's health. Does anyone know of a mod that I can pin somewhere on my screen to show it's health? I know I can /focus him, but I sometimes use that for my tank. Any suggestions?

Deadly Boss Mods has options to display boss health in a window. Really important in some fights like Worms in TotC, thaddius twins, etc.

You can always target the boss and do /focus. This will allow you to not only see his health, but whoever he is targeting (the tank).

Personally, I use x-perl unit frames which allows LOTS of different things such as showing your target's target (even the targets target cast bar), the raid (debuffs, hitpoints, mana etc) and can go on and on.

Or, like Insahnity said, DBM has an option to turn their hp bars on.

I usually have the tank focused to watch my beacon's duration, so I just look at their target to see the boss's health.

Not sure if Earth Shield needs similar maintainance though to justify using focus for that or if there would be a better target to focus.

Turn on focus's target and you get both

Davout, I use Totem Timers to keep track of my totems durations and it actually has a built in Earth Shield tracker.

Coro, I used to use X-Perl and have recently switched over to Ag_unit frames to get away from the bloatedness of X-Perl, but it looks like I am going to move back to it. When I select "focus" from the drop down menu in Ag, it just gives me an error and won't focus my target.

I'll go back to x-perl tonight and see what I can set up.

I use BigWigs/LittleWigs instead of DBM. I have found it is a lot more idiot proof. As in flashing your entire screen when your in the fire. Makes you move pretty fast I also found that the boss health bars in DBM did not keep anywhere close to their actual health. Say I look over at the DBM health bar and it says that Ony is at 80%, well next thing I know she's turning and heading for the middle of the room I click on her suddenly her health is at 65%. So it did not keep track of it very well and was very misleading.

Thanks all for the responses!

good luck and let me know if x-perl works out for you, I'd be interested in hearing the end results.

I haven't used bigwigs yet, I just go with DBM cuz that's what everyone else on my server has and it's just easier to have the same thing.

Well, x-perl gives me the same error when I tell it to focus something from the drop down menu. I did find out though that /focus works with both x-perl and ag_unit frames. I tend to see a little bit more latency with x-perl, but I love the fact that I can see how many healers are targeting my same target. I don't know if ag_unit frames has a similar option or not. I will have to do some digging to find out.

Coro, if you find yourself getting out of the fire, void zones, or any other aoe fast enough then DBM is great. Like I said in my other post, BigWigs is pretty much idiot proof. I am an officer in my guild and we try to push all our raid members to use BigWigs so we can make sure the..well...special ones are GETTING OUT OF THE FIRE! Oh, we also use that failbot mod somtimes

/focus and unit frames.

pretty sure blizz changed the API for focus ... get the same 'blizz blocked this action" error with Ouf.
