Squirrel - did you do your boss dummy testing with full raid buffs? ArP will scale better than STR but I still think you're at the crossover point where it won't make much difference which way you go.

No buffs of any kind other then my own Battle Shout. No sunders, blah blah. The only difference between the test that brought 3.3k dps on the Boss dummy and the 2.6-2.8k dps on the Boss dummy was re-gemming from str to arp and switching chests (T7.5 over to Chestplate of Vicious Potency) which caused me to drop away from the hit cap

I tend to think I am right at the crossover point where it doesn't really matter much but hopefully with raid buffs my DPS would scale back up around or slightly above where it was when gemmed for STR. I find myself rage deprived on the Boss Dummy when gemmed for arp more then previously. Hopefully I can nab a Grim Toll from a pug this weekend.

Coming from a MT in a guild as well.. I would think Fury would be a more legit off-spec from the simple matter of interrupts, maintaining sunders, imp demo, commanding ect.. if you are forfeiting your MT for a non-war tank.

I am sure you have another fury warrior in raid but it would be less for him/her to worry about while you can continue to contribute to the raid and put up some numbers.

Curious what others use as their off spec if they don't use two prot specs.
Sundering really isn't that hard for an Arms warrior. I mean sure I drank the kool-aid and bitched whenever I was the sunder-monkey. But... it's really not that bad...

Of course Arms is my main spec these days so I have a bit of practice, but seriously it's not hard at all and a *very* marginal personal dps loss compared to having someone else do it.

For 10 mans Arms or Fury will depend on your raid comp since Arms does provide an extra raid buff. For 25 man, it probably doesn't really matter.

@Squirrelnut - dropping 90 hit below the crap is going to effect your rage generation, which will be felt most in low rage situations like a target dummy. Also keep in mind that there's a minimum AP you'll want to maintain, as a rule of thumb I've used 3k cuz it's a nice round number, but it's probably higher.

Honestly, I don't put much stock in what people do on dummies because a self-buffed warrior just isn't going to have enough rage to maintain a full rotation. The real tricky part with the arms rotation is managing slams and HS to squeeze out dps without leaving you too starved for your 'core' abilities.

if i recall correct GT has a 45s internal CD. i did hear from some guys that they stop stacking ArP when they reach 50% from gear and stance since it would be a waste.

personally i keep on stacking ArP for the time GT isn't up and so far it's doing very well for me. some fights make ArP worse then str imo but not that many.

and for the rotation. rend>MS>OP>execute imo. bladestorm right after a TFB OP with MS on cd and more then 6sec on rend.

i'm unsure now about the MS and OP position but i would never prio execute over any of those 2. in raids OP comes close to 100%crit with the 20%inc dmg from talents i like that alot. no crit is no dmg imo.

MS has 10%inc dmg from glyph and extra10%crit from 4set t8.5.

execute is great when it crits but it's very dissapointing when it doesn't so i go for the higher critchance there.
