Did nax tonight and the stand out fail was patchwork. Pally and Dks had to slow down on threat to avoid overtaking me. i tried swapping stances beforehand to determine if that was the issue. This didn't work.

I'm hoping that he at least tries to spec back into vigilance to see if it helps with his threat since I think after GC stated they'd been thinking of nerfing Deep Wounds a bit that something may have been hotfixed in without anyone knowing any better.

Turns out this was bang on.

Not really. The hotfix to DW's on a prot warrior would equate to something like .5% of our total damage. Which then translate to something like .2% of our total threat.

I doubt anyone misses that. There could be a bug out there still, but other than taunt on Raszuvious not always working for me (been told that's a really old problem) I haven't actually noticed anything different.

Perhaps there's another hotfix that accounts for it? Or maybe the changes to dps / healers accounts for it. Remember warriors were almost completely untouched by the patch. That's not true for other classes.

In short, yes... but without logs to back it up. I'm spec'd into DW to make AE tanking smoother, but our first Naxx25 after the patch (Wednesday 4th Feb, I'm EU) caused me to lose aggro to AE'rs way quicker than normal. I do the usual AE stuff and I've not changed my 'rotation'.

Also, on single targets I use a near-hit-cap, expertise cap set stacking STR as much as poss (I have 3 'sets' on outfitter, god knows which one an armory link would show at any given moment ), and I'm now finding I'm praying for a decent Shield Slam crit to keep me ahead of the DPS. Yes, they're good DPS but they've always been similarly geared DPS... we've improved together.

In short, just adding my voice to the 'Hmm, that TPS feels low, is it me?'

/*EDIT - Oh yeah, and Taunt not putting me to the top of the aggro list sometimes... happens to me too.*/

Scaling of the gear maybe?

Here's my theory . . .

Time has passed and ppl r getting better gear every day. The problem with TPS is that the tanking gear doesn't seem to scale the same as the DPS gear does. There seem to be very minor differences in the major Threat Generation stats (Str, Hit, Expertise) when comparing the 200 to 213 and even some of the 187 items. So while the tanks r only improving slightly in TPS from 213 items from 200, the DPS seem to be getting a big jump in TPS. Therefore, my theory implies there isn't a change since the patch, it was just a matter of time before the DPS could begin generating equal or greater threat than the tank. I avg 4.5-5k TPS and never was below 3.5k, while my top DPSers avg 3.5-4k TPS where they used to only avg around 2k. So, with their upgrades, they have increased their threat generation by almost 100% while the tank only gets about a 30% increase with similar upgrades. I guess I could try to begin gemming for threat generation and not solely stam/avoidance. I may be completely wrong here, but it's another possibility.

I could have sworn I posted in here but I noticed something different as well. Guys that I have been playing with for years now asked me what was going on with my threat this last weekend. Stuff like "are you playing with a new spec? if so it's not very good" ect. Aggro rips in strange spots and some other irregularities in 5 mans.

I tried the stance switch thing after the first day but I'm sort of at a loss how to fix it in the long term. I could almost buy into the gear thing but our DPS'ers are still sitting around 4k sustained no matter which tank was handling the given fight; gear upgrades should roughly correlate with DPS upgrades.

It would be really nice to see the real cause because deep wounds, while being nice, isn't enough to drop my TPS down as much as was happening. Maybe glancing blows or boss armor is a good candidate and I wonder if it's been boosted preparation of Sunder Armor reducing a percentage instead of flat armor amount.

Xav do you roll with a Hunter (or Rogue) that applies the armor debuff for you?

...but I personally have not seen a problem in both dps or tps decreasing post 3.0.8.
I also am having zero problems and while I'm sure I'd see the DW nerf took down my DPS a little itty bitty bit (if I looked at logs), it hasn't been big enough for me to really notice / inspire me to go looking at logs.

Pretty sure they fixed the bug forever ago, but it wouldn't hurt you to try changing out of def stance and then back to def stance after you zone in, it used to forget about your threat multipliers sometimes unless you reapplied them.

Also several people in my guild have been having a problem where sometimes it forgets they have enchants/gems in their gear, until they log out and back in, particularly if they hit "fully broken" on that piece of gear, when they repair, their junk is just "gone".

I'm thinking it may have been latency that was causing my issue. Had a big lag spike yesterday and was having lowered tps and dps again. Still appears as though I'm doing less dps, but my TPS is at least more moderate. Of course, I have gotten some upgrades since..

I wanted to log in and say you are not crazy. I have posted a few times over at the wow forums and also replied to other persons threads about the same issues. There are numerous threads but they get knocked down by moron trolls who know nothing.

I dont know if its a lag issue or what. I have seen the issues with armor not correctly showing up in stats when changed. A friend was over last nite and I asked him to check some gear as I swapped and asked if he could see why I wasnt recieving the stam bonus. He couldnt either. After a log it was showing correctly?

What really pisses me off is it is not a steady problem. I wonder if thats why the only blue responce that I could find basically said we need to bring the player to the game and not rely on gear.

This was not an issue before the patch. It seems to float around on other issues on other characters of mine. Like on my lock when I dismount my felguard will not come back to full health, he stays at the base hp and does not increase to the ful amount that is calcualted off my stats. Also on my healer I seem to lag on threat as in I stay in combat well after I have completed combat sometimes 5 sec or more. This is while soloing no AOE used on stuff that I dont see etc.

There are more and more issues that are showing up that are only taken care of by logging. Including stat issues, missing gear enchants/stones when gear breaks, the felguard health bug etc.

All these things seem to have shown up after the patch. I dont know if they are connected but it pisses me off and I hope someone who is smarter than me can figure it out before I have to just stop playing all together.
