So I'm a new poster to the forums, but a long time reader. I've always felt the allure of tanking on my warrior but mostly found myself in positions to DPS. With the advent of Wrath the opportunity to tank has presented itself and I'd like to take full advantage of it. I'm trying to set up some gearsets and could use your help

I'm trying to set up 2 sets. A Threat set and an Avoidance/EH set. I'm going to try and include items/gems/enchants whenever possible and I'll list unbuffed stats afterward.

Threat:

That gives me 27.3k health, 23.2k Armor, 20.37% Dodge, 17.26% Parry, 15.74% Block, 556 Defense, 134 Hit Rating, and 26 Expertise.

That gives me 26.7k health, 23.3k Armor, 24.97% Dodge, 17.65% Parry, 18.14% Block, 558 Defense, 148 Hit Rating, and 9 Expertise.

My ranged is the standard Armor Plated Combat Shotgun - Item - World of Warcraft with 24 Stam gem

Now for questions and thoughts

1) I'm not sure how my EH/Avoidance set ended up with more avoidance but less health than my threat set. Is the difference significant enough?

2)I have other items that I hadn't included in these set ups such as
The Skull of Ruin - Item - World of Warcraft
Bolstered Legplates - Item - World of Warcraft
Terrace Defence Boots - Item - World of Warcraft
Heroes' Dreadnaught Handguards - Item - World of Warcraft
that I couldn't find a spot for, any suggestions?

3) General impressions? This is the current gear I have available to me, but due to a sudden loss of tanking warriors I'm being given the opportunity to start tanking 25 man content. Any questions, suggestions, comments, and smart remarks would be welcome.

First, I would say that the Bolstered Legplates should go into your threat set. It's got 45 hit which is going to be really good to lower your missrate. It can even go into the EH/Avoidence set as it has more base Sta than the Legplates of Inescapable Death.

Personally, I think it would be great if you could replace the Horn-Tipped with your T7 gloves in your threat set for the 10% extra slam damage.

The other thing is that your def is kinda hard in your threat set. While def is a good stat, perhaps consider swapping out the Repelling Charge for a threat trinket (like the +hit from Heroic Nexus?) for your threat set?

Your gear looks fine to do Naxx though.
