Unanswered: Heroic to Raid gearing transition

Hi all,

This is me in my heroic set and I've been having quite a lot of fun pumping out the dps (topped meters in H Gundrak just now) and having healers not break a sweat keeping me up.

The World of Warcraft Armory

I took a look at the guild roster for this weekend, and surprise I'm the MT for Naxx. I've only OT-ed that place... once. So I was wondering how I should change my gear?

In the pug raids I've tanked, I usually swap out:
Unsmashable Heavy Band - Item - World of Warcraft, Mighty Alchemist's Stone - Item - World of Warcraft, Slaughterhouse Sabatons - Item - World of Warcraft, Burning Skull Pendant - Item - World of Warcraft
for
Woeful Band - Item - World of Warcraft, Guardian's Alchemist Stone - Item - World of Warcraft, Terrace Defence Boots - Item - World of Warcraft, Chained Military Gorget - Item - World of Warcraft

Those swaps put me at 547 defense and ~25k hp.

Do you guys think that's enough for MT-ing? Oh ya, my friend is farming the last of the mats for my Armor Plated Combat Shotgun - Item - World of Warcraft (good friend I know). I'm also considering resocketing my helmet with Austere Earthsiege Diamond - Item - World of Warcraft.

I don't have enough emblems for both the T7 chest and gloves, is the chest itself enough of an upgrade to get now? I see it as swapping avoidance + sockets for a ton of expertise, and I can't tell if I need the avoidance.

Also, is it wise to swap out the rest of my SBV gear for raid bosses? ie, keep running AN for Ancient Aligned Girdle - Item - World of Warcraft trying to get Cloak of the Enemy - Item - World of Warcraft / Cloak of Peaceful Resolutions - Item - World of Warcraft, maybe even buy Sabatons of Draconic Vigor - Item - World of Warcraft

Should I be targeting new shoulders?

Last, if I can get enough over 540 to drop the Guardian's Alchemist Stone - Item - World of Warcraft, I got Essence of Gossamer - Item - World of Warcraft and ye old Gnomeregan Auto-Blocker 600 - Item - World of Warcraft in my bags too.

If you've made it this far, thanks for reading. Can you tell I'm a little nervous ?

with those switches you should be fine, my first comment was too much SBV, and my second was you would be critable ... but you realized and fixed that your self.

other than that nope you look pretty set. i've MTed all of 10 man content and im wearing the shoulders from the nexus quest

Tundra Pauldrons - Item - World of Warcraft

edit: oh, if you can get enough defense to go over 540 so you can drop in your EoG thats probably a really really good idea IMO.

I like the Austere over the Eternal for meta; I personally think the Sta and armor boosts are better than the SBV. You'll drop some defense, but that can be more than compensated for with the +Def enchants to cloak and chest (currently unenchanted).

Other things to consider:

Bracer enchant - currently unenchanted.
Boot enchant - the +22 Sta enchant is way cheap, lot of "bang for the buck".
Upgrade to Frosthide Leg Armor on the legs.

I do think that the Wyrmrest boots are better than either of the boots you're currently using...and you've got the rep to pick them up now, since you're already wearing the Wyrmrest chest.

Also, no clear tank weapon enchant favorites out there, but +26Agi or titanium weapon chain might be a little better for the sword.

I can't seem to view your armory page, so I'll just comment on the things you talked about. Cloak of the Enemy is good, and has a retarded high drop rate. But if for some reason youre having trouble picking it up, you can grab the Wyrmrest Accord Rep cloak, which has almost identical stats. If you're not in a raiding guild you should probably grab your T7 chest and gloves, the 2 sets are usually pretty nice. You def don't need to look for shoulder upgrades, there really are none until you get to naxx with the exception of the BoE Epic shoulders. I would hold off on enchants to your weapon and bracers as a +75 sta to main hand weapon and a +40 sta to bracers will be coming with the 3.0.8 patch.
