Having ticked off the first three bosses in MH, Naj'entus and (typically enough) a 1% best on Supremus, it was time to have a look at Azgalor last night.
The trash seemed a step up from the previous sets with Dps aggroing mobs left right and centre resulting in frequent deaths and corpse runs each wave. In no time at all we had used up two and a half hours of the raid with one hour remaining, having only seen the boss once (unfortunately we were still plowing through wave eight at the time).
Tanks for the trash had been me and another prot warrior, a feral druid and a holy pally. After much debate (including wether to call it a night and go down Mag or some such before logging) our pally went off to respec prot and we took a short break. Coming back, we got through the trash smoothly and had a very encouraging, albeit very frustrating, 2% wipe on the boss. A quick regroup and we were back at the trash, clearing it again with no problems and this time managed to kill Azgalor
What made the difference for the last couple of attempts? Was it not being overconfident and trying to main tank tier 6 content with a holy pally (even though it had worked well on the previous encounters in Mount Hyjal) or was it having some time to take a step back from our computers and refocus on what we were doing.
I suspect it was a combination of the two, but taking the time mid-raid to let people clear their heads and just get away for a few minutes can make all the difference.
