Have they nerfed the damage that Mother Sharaz does? If so, how much resistance have people been wearing since the patch? We're attempting her next week and I need to get some Shadow Resist gear made.

It's still good to have some but you don't need a full set anymore. If you have to, make it for your healers. Tanks don't need it at all.

Sell your guilds hearts. We have been on a mad selling spree.

My guild one-shot mother on our first time ever seeing her, with 0 SR gear and the main tank disconnected 20 seconds into the fight.

We went in for the first time with full SR on everyone. I dont know if we needed it, but nobody's health seemed to drop below 90%, and most were at 100% the whole fight.
So sell them hearts... but who's gonna buy them???

You will kill her fast enough now that you will only get three or four ports. Unfortunately, with zero shadow resist, it's probably very likely that those ported will die in a few seconds. Beam damage from Mother will also make raid damage pretty high if no one has resist gear.

Tried her last night with 0 SR and it wasn't pretty. We got a bunch of unlucky ports that landed right on top of the tanks, and we had a very melee heavy group. Needless to say we got chewed up and spat out real quickly.
We did get her to 500k hp, so i'm sure it's doable with 0 SR, but I'm sure it's easier with some on your heals and dps.

We have had half SR gear on our core raiders since one of the bosses in MH. We passed some more out and we were fine. I don't think any one had over 200 base SR.

We did our last BT clear as an official raid target on Sunday. Nobody in the raid wore any SR at all for Mother. Zero deaths, good times.

To echo Satrina, we allowed people to bring alts to BT, no one wore any SR and it wasn't a problem.

Our first shot we one-shotted her with only a very few people using SR. We had some bad luck and it took a few shots this week, but having SR seemed to help a lot (people went and got what they had for the attempt that we beat her). So, it can be done without it, but it still can help if it is a fight you are just learning. For experienced guilds it probably does not matter at all, anymore.

People who want the swift wtf-ever shoulders will still buy hearts, but the price on them has fallen through the floor on the AH's.

We did Mother yesterday. One shotted, but LOTS of people dead haha
Brute force it and you should be fine
Got Illidari Council to 50% on 1st try too. Sadly we were out of time for another one =x

The only thing it will save you from is if she Fatal Attractions people right on top of your biggest group.

Better safe then sorry. FA can still deal a hefty amount of damage to those without SR. Had someone's Arms Warrior alt go to town without any SR. His damage output was terrific but eventually Mom had enough of him and he died to FA.

To people running it without SR:
Are your raiders just moving quicker during the Fatal Attractions?
My guild made our first attempt on Mother tonight. We were all feeling cocky after waltzing past the other bosses since 3.0, but Mother definitely ran through us. It seems like we were consistently loosing one or two (usually two) raid members during the Fatal Attractions. Seeing everyone say that SR is not a problem makes me think we're doing something wrong mechanics-wise.
Some quick statistics:
We had 6 healers; 2 druids, 2 paladins, 1 priest, 1 shaman (an additional pally on one attempt and an additional shaman on our last attempt)
We were using the 'one group' strategy with designated run spots (stage, waterfall, door)
I was calling out Fatal Attractions on our first attempt, but left it up to raid warnings on every attempt after that
We were running with 23 people most attempts
I'd really like to make a push this next week toward ol' Illidan before Wrath falls. Any pro-tips on easing the strain?

We did Mother this week with a mostly alt raid, maybe 8 people in SR total. We've always used the 'one group' strategy, which means that ports on the ranged or on the melee can be rough, but most other ports only endanger the ported players.
Most folks without SR died on ports unless they had class abilities that helped (bubble, blink + ice block, CloS). We reset her twice due to the first port being right on the raid and then burned her down before the fifth portal. Had ~8 folks dead at that point.
Note, the biggest trick to the fight is getting as many fake fatal attraction targets out as possible. Use snake traps (our hunters stand behind our melee), every shaman should have four totems down, every pet class should have a pet out, etc. This will result in a large number of two and even one person ports, which are much much easier to deal with.

It is pretty much just a dps race now if you have no SR. Also getting lucky with portals.
In the pugs we run, we usually do the all range stacking by the couch method to reduce the likelihood of portal raid damage.
Bloodlust/Heroism is pretty OP for this fight. You can get her well below 50% during the duration of Bloodlust/Heroism.
