Just wondering if anyone has had a chance to run Kara post patch yet. I understand they made boss changes (less HP and damage as I understand it). I have a run Friday and was wondering what to expect!
Korvid
p.s. yay! I'm still uncrittable withe the S2 shield on!

Just ran it tonight. It feels like i went back to regular instances after running the heroic version for months.
I may be wrong but i think even the trash took a 30% reduction too.

Just did it today, it was very easy, save for Netherspite.
Netherspite was only hard because by that point of the night we had bad composition and only 7 members lol. Prince was fine with 7 though, it was just rotating the beams was too hard short handed.
The combination of less health, no crushes and the massive increase in dps just made everything a breeze.
Oh ya, the new Warrior talents made aoe tanking ez mode.

Grabbed 10 guild members together last night to do Karazhan (me as tank, 3 healers and 6 DPS - just got what we could) and we absolutely obliterated the place.
Granted, we outgear it by a lot anyway (we killed Kalecgos before 3.0) but it was so horrifically easy it was silly: - We wiped the floor with Attumen.
- Moroes + all adds killed (adds first) with him only vanishing ONCE, and he did that when he was almost dead.
- Maiden just fell over.
- R&J at the Opera was a joke.
- Nightbane couldn't land unless we actually allowed it.
- We ninja pulled 3 sets of elementals in front of the Curator along with him, killed them first and still got him down before the first evocation.
- It took me longer to find and put on my DPS kit for Aran than we spent fighting him.
- Netherspite died a couple of seconds after the first beams stopped.
- Prince Malchezaar only made 2 infernals (and I was doing 1000 DPS on him whilst tanking).
Trying BT tonight, although from what I've heard about that we'll be in and out in a fraction of the time it took us before (best full clear in ~4h 30m pre-patch).

Thanks guys,
It'll make picking up some badges easier, I'm only in T4 and a bit of badge gear, but I hope to change that soon... yay, badge gear for leveling next month!
Have fun in BT Zoril, let us know how it goes.

Have fun in BT Zoril, let us know how it goes. | Couldn't full clear BT because my server crashed for about 1h 20m - 1h 30m just as we were going in which cut our raiding time in half, but its also a joke.
All the bosses in there are just shadows of their former selves. We wiped once on Bloodboil because of some weird stuff during Fel Rage (turning around and nuking the tanks dead with acid breath was unusual), but on the whole, its so much easier than before.

Ive always loved Karazhan, first because you could do it with just a couple of friends and the occasianally wipe when someone has had to much beer to do anything.
But did Kara (and za) last night, and Kara going from one of my favourite places to the most boring place.
Same with ZA btw. After bear boss we had 33 mins to go.
Really sad to see this change, first of all for all the people who are just starting to raid with some badge gear and quest rewards, they will most likely not find the pleasure of the instances with this nerf seeing as they will most likely one shot everything.

Most likely they will yes. I came to TBC not long ago and struggled to get groups for stuff....had to wait ages for drops(only recently got my T4 gloves) but that was part of the fun! I would rather have a challenge that constnat OMG EZ MODE!
Tanking does seem more fun now, probably due to the high as crits!

Was funny tanking Kara for my GF's guild the day after downing Archi.
I was top DPS by a long shot and our next best was doing around 500dps.
I solo tanked everything and we cleared the place apart from Netherspite.
It was the guilds first ever Karazhan and we cleared it with ease.

Did my first full Kara run last night.
I am a casual player and the "Nerf" has allowed my guild to progress a little quicker.
We were flying along till server went down then we lost one DPS and wiped at Prince. This was my fault as was too tired so passed MT to a Pally.
We didn't make Nether as we were all too tired.
Basically this nerf has allowed me to gain my Helm from Kara about 2 months earlier. It has also given me, a new player to WoW, valuabale raid time that will allow me to progress into Wrath.
What is bad about that?

we 9-manned it in 1,5 hours. did Curator with 3 trash packs involved, was hilarious. Oh, and Netherspite is now a joke.

I tanked Kara last night with a PUG group and a pally OT:
No CC for Moroes, we just tanked everything between us. I hardly even noticed what happened, but everything died quick.
Curator – got him down to 8% in the first evocate, he enraged and died shortly after.
Nightbane was easy! Longest fight in the instance still, but it was over in a few minutes.
Illhoof – um.. one person got sacrificed, the whole room was exploding with AOE from everyone, it was over so quickly, I had to laugh.
Aran – my favourite fight in Kara, and it’s still a blast, but very easy now. I liked staying in my tank gear and still doing respectable dps. Made picking up the elementals easy.
We wiped on Chess!!
Prince.. um.. LOL I didn’t even see an infernal. I’m sure there were one or two but it didn’t take long at all. Phase 2 came and went uneventfully.
Netherspite.. LOL Piece of cake. Same fight but much shorter.
It still took 3hrs, but it was a PUG and not a particularly geared group and we stopped a couple of times. I think we had about 5 deaths total, just random aggro-ninja’s (ret pally *cough*). The name of the game was pull everything and AOE – particularly with two tanks it’s just too easy to hold everything in place. I was playing around with Vigilance a bit, but I’m not sure I noticed it very much, threat is just mindless now.

One of the nice things, is that now the inside route from opera to nightbane is faster then the backdoor route. That and you get to snag some extra (I think about 10-20G/person) gold.

We go to kara every friday... I wanted to test my tanking abilities on against that place... My guild leader (a warlock alt at the time) was pulling things and he wouldn't just pull one mob... It'd be 4 or 5 just to make it interesting. Was aton of fun! We did it in 2 hours. Mostly cause I pulled slow - I always wait for my healers... thats going to change this weekend ;-) Eveything went down so fast that when I got to netherspite I realized I was doing the run in half DPS gear half tanking gear... 476 def and still didnt wipe once. Makes me think it's too easy I didnt even notice a crit at all!

Ran it twice so far, first time was with 9 people and netherspite died within the first phase of the beams, we didn't even have to switch it up. Curator died before he evoc'd which actually really made me mad because I wanted to see my numbers on him. Otherwise we cleared all of it in a little over an hour.
2nd time we went with 8 people or so and one guy was in full blues and greens, just dinged 70. Fights went pretty much the same, lasted a little longer, but nothing bad at all. Finished in about 1h 30 min. Free badges!!!
My warrior was running at about 1400DPS or so average, was really fun. No wipes, just owning.

Hello everyone, i havn't had the chance to tank kara since the new patch and couldn't find if anyone had posted the new minimum stats for it. Would anyone be able to direct me to a thread that has it or just tell me? I only ask this without looking around more cause i have been having to do a lot of training lately getting ready to deploy to iraq and just don't have the time Thank you everyone!

I am still not sure about this whole nurf raid boss thingy...... felt a bit sad last night seeing those epic battles turned to trash.
I was waiting to take a bunch of first timers to ZA (yes believe it or not there are players who have never ever been in the ZA doors on there mains) and had a bit of time to kill so the family being me, wife and son (warr, priest, lock) head into Kara and 3 man Huntsman and Maiden. Old Moroes sorted us out but still, victory felt a bit hollow.
It was then compounded when the 9 first timers I took to ZA got a full clear and I could almost see them thinking so what was all the fuss about and all I could remember was all those epic wipes.
Guess the game has moved on....but not sure they needed to nurf the raids.
