| | | Brutallus Tank Selection
I'm the raid leader for a guild about to start working on Brutallus. I have to decide which two of the following three tanks we should use for Brute. We don't have any geared ferals at present.
Paladin 1
Armor: 18025
Dodge: 28.08%
Parry: 18.67%
Block: 23.05%
Hit Points: 156687
Defense 535
Warrior 1
Armor: 19285
Dodge: 34.48%
Parry: 21.23%
Block: 32.47%
Hit Points 16424
Defense: 563
Warrior 2
Armor: 19321
Dodge: 32.46%
Parry: 21.43%
Block: 31.28%
Hit Points: 16814
Defense: 530
Of the three, the paladin has the lowest mitigation but puts out the most threat. He also offers the utility of a third blessing. Your input is appreciated.

I'd recommend running with both Warriors, taking as little damage as possible will help you a lot more than the extra threat will for learning the fight.

Both warriors. Get a ret paladin for the 3rd blessing, or just external buff for "serious" attempts, so you still get all 3 blessings. Very easy to do.
Threat should be a nonissue for first kills.

The Warriors. That Paladin would more then likely get destroyed during stomp anyways.
That being said, I'm a fan of the 3 tank strat. Trade a DPS for a feral Druid and taunt immediately after a stomp. Haven't had a tank death (other then lol Druid went catform) in forever.

The warriors are significantly better geared 18k armor is quite low for t6 clearing (lack of illi shields or something).
Can't see armory but its safer to go with the warriors ofc they will still get owned in the face any tank new to brutallus will..

Unless you REALLY have threat problems, that paladin is the wrong choice, he's a lot less geared than the other two.
Consider having the paladin going retribution until his gear gets on par, you'd love the 3rd bless and JoW+JoCr.
...or tell him to stop gemming for spelldamage for god's sake.

One thing that REALLY sucks about pallies on fights like these is their sub par taunting mechanics. Resisted taunt is basically a wipe in their case.

Resisted taunt is a wipe in any case. | Surely not for warriors or druids right now.

It is since
1) Healers will have switched targets hence the tank who was tanking will still being hit but not being healed
2) Even if they use a backup taunt, it lasts 6 seconds and taunt CD is 10 seconds (i don't think you got improved taunt in your spec), so after 4 seconds, he will switch back to the old tank, which will not be healed, potentially be in cat form if he's a druid, and be killed
3) Paladins can as well BoP the other tank and get aggro for 12 seconds, enough for RD cd to refresh.

Uh, no. It is not the greatest thing in the world to happen, but it certainly is manageable. Healers should know what is going on because of a mod announcing Taunt resist/AE taunt macro/voice comm/whatever. With human reaction time for the backup taunt, it will be more like 2-3 seconds at most on the previous tank again, also depending a bit on the Meteor Slash timing.
Anyway it's definitely not an automatic wipe. Been there, done that.
I wouldn't want to rely on bubbling the OT, seems too likely that Brutallus will kill some random DPS.

That depends on how high in threat the 2 tanks are.
That said, brut only got the standard 1% taunt resist so, it happens, if you wipe, go again.
My BoP on other tank only once got one of our rogues killed (i think he got a 30k hit or something along those lines :P )
