Are gear requirements get harder for naxx?

Ok, so I'm looking around on the internet and just about everything says that naxx is an easy raid that seems hard to people who don't listen (ex. in Thaddius when people don't move after polarity shift). They all seem to to say something along the lines of "some one who wants to tank Naxx needs at least 20k health, 540 def, 20-21k armor, and 30% avoidance". But on my server (Arygos) I see people who have all heroic/emblem epics and heroic blues and still think they aren't ready for naxx. Every one wants "geared" raiders in there groups, and this means people are expecting others to have some gear from naxx+ already. While I simply assumed that as the people on my server are getting better gear they expect the same out of other players, I got a shock last night. A group was looking a tank for H VH, which is one of the easier heroics to most people. What they demanded though was that the tank have at least 25k health. I'm not complaining, 25k health isn't a challenge, but if this were to carry over to naxx, people will be expecting 80's who have been doing WotLK raids and getting gear for some time now, and some one like myself will need to run heroics for a longer period of time before saying they're ready for naxx. Is this just my server or are the expectations for gear rising above the ones set out in early WotLK across the board?

Try to get into guild which starts to raid naxx/has recently started. Pug expectations are usually higher cause people dont want to spend 6 hours progressing trough naxx10 anymore when they have allready ran that many times before.

Not saying its right or wrong to refuse a tank for heroic who is under 25k.
Have done more than my fair share where as a prot warrior i out dps the some of the dps in the group.

If you put the time into your character as a tank, or as dps you end up with a very viable functional fresh 80. Putting the time or gold into a fresh 80 only to quickly replace gear may seems stupid to some.
For me i never want to be carried.
If i did not earn it, i do not want it.
So fresh 80 tanks consult your local blacksmith, if your of the furry flavor (druid) dig up a leather worker.
A hand full of BOE greens gets you some basic enchants.

Same goes for Dps get yourself a decent kit so you can really do your part.
No one wants a 20k health tank same way they dont want a three digit dps.
Naxx or heroics with your guild will always feel better than a pug for me.

A little bit of effort goes along way on making it easier on everyone while your gearing up.

On a more personal note i stepped into naxx the first time to tank with 24k health , and i cant imagine trying it much lower. I know it can be done no questions there.

Yep agree with you all there are definitely people just out farming badges and rep and they are demanding higher stuff from pugs.

The whole HP thing is also funny and I ran across it on my pally tank and there is a world of difference between a 24K HP pally tank and a 24K HP warrior tank.

Wait for what has started heroics and OS 10 who want 3K+ DPS which I have started to see a few of ^.^ I have always been tempted to jump on my mage and go along just to see what you get ... I have always guessed alot of DK's and hunters which are about the only things that can do 3K in low gear. Mind you having 3K dps still doesn't stop them being retards and dying on first flame wall which seems to happen alot in OS 25 man pugs.

It isn't strange that rquirements have gone up.

Early on in WotLK, the ones getting to 80 were the one powering to 80. I'd even dare say better then average players. For those players, gear requirements are less because they make up with skill.

If you're going heroics now, you will seeon average a bit less skill, which needs to be made up with gear.

Don't get me wrong I don't say all players are bad, but the chance of encountering a less skilled player are higher then at the start of WotLK. Also a lot of gearing up options (like badge bracers) are now much more accessible then at the start, so if you spend the same amounof time before dungeons gearing up your character you end up with better gear, so it's understandable that partymembers expect that.

I believe its the same across all servers, they all want the best geared people (tanks 35k HP+ etc, dps 4k) even though 25k HP is enough. On top of that you have to have the achievement to even be considered. Also trying to find a raiding guild is a bit of a mission as well, the addition of dual specs and DK's are a blessing and a curse.

I used to think it was stupid having to link stats+achievement for heroics/raids but after last night attempt at HC HoL I'm going to be more cautious over whom I pug with.

We don't seem to get the achievement link request for Heroics, but we do for pretty much everything else.

I went into Heroic HoL for the first time last night and was asked for stats before hand (HP and def) I am barely over 25k health and am def capped and we did ok, even got "Timely Death" achievement by killing Loken in less than 2 min Managed to get revered with Wyrmrest during the run as well.
