Xevozz in H VH, how to keep agro?

Hi all, had a problem last night trying to tank H VH when Xevozz was the first boss. Essentially I was having trouble keeping agro on him without moving backwards while kiting, FF wasn't able to be used and growl he seemed to be immune to, and if I tried to move backwards while kiting him and staying in melee range he just went past me.

My armory is here and I'm sitting at ~32k hp, 29% dodge and 24k armour in bear form with just MoTW on me. I had no issues with tanking in H UK previously but this is the first character I have tanked on (previously a holy paladin and warlock, dk is set for tanking but hasn't yet) so I'm not sure if this is just an experience issue that involves a technique I need to learn, if I'm just undergeared or if it's just a "luck" encounter but any advice is appreciated even if it's just that I suck

I'm guessing you had some ranged dps who put out good numbers there? Beeing a DK tank (and therefore having some ranged attacks that you might not have) I never have any problems keeping him. He does however move a bit strange stoping every now and then.
He doesnt require a lot of dps to get down, and doesnt do a lot of damage either as long as you keep everyone in the team out of los of the spheres, so if the issue is that some dps steal him from you, just tell them to install omen and look at it :-)

Don't kite him continuously. Move him some, stop, abuse him for a few GCDs, then move him again. If you're not amazingly good at moving and fighting at the same time, you'll spend most of your time out of range and your less attentive DPS will rip him right off you.

While you're moving, use Growl or Challenging Roar to force him to stick with you for a few seconds.

You can get a pretty big threat lead at the beginning. After that, you just have to make sure you're attacking while you're kiting. He stops periodically, but he'll sprint to catch back up to you.

We had a big problem with two of our alt tanks that didn't use keybinds. They were unable to move and click efficiently enough and they struggled to keep threat on any fight that required movement.

I had this very problem with an Arms warrior. He had great numbers and I'm sure recount would have had him at the top of the charts. However, he pulled Xevozz off me twice. I could see on Omen that he was stealing aggro.

According to him that wasn't the problem so he kicked me.
/sigh
For now on if I PUG, I lead.
