Heroic Nexus: Chaos Theory

Gave this a shot over the weekend and on all the tries we got to the 25% mark without too much difficulty. Once he came back up though, we were overrun by what seemed like dozens of ads.

Up to that point, we managed the ads just fine, but the combination of the rifts and ads seemed to be a bit much.

Group comp:
Warrior tank(me)
Pally healer
Lock
Mage
Hunter

It seemed like we had an ideal group make up for DPS because they were all ranged and could stay far enough back so I was the only one taking the rift hits.

We started by DPSing him down (got past 70%) where he starts. I moved to the top of the ramp and ranged moved down to the lower platform. Killed any ads that spawn. Next phase I moved him down to the bottom of the ramp, and the ranged stayed at the top of second ramp. DPSed him down another 25% (his health was around 50%). Ranged moved down the ramp on to the lowest floor, I moved to the top of the ramp.

He came back up and moved to me at the top of the ramp, the rifts then started jumping to everybody else in the group and we were swarmed by ads. I tried my AoE taunt, shield wall, last stand/enraged regen to compensate for everything hitting me while the pally was spamming heals, but everything kept running past me after that. Still no luck. We only gave it 4 shots or so, but it seemed like the kiting method was sound.

The mage did have dampen magic up on all the ranged and healer. What were we missing for that last 25%? Any types of resist gear that might help?

The jolts are directed to whichever character the game thinks is closest to the rifts. Make sure as you move each time, that you're positioned so you'll take all the jolts, and that the rest of the group is far enough away to avoid the chaining.

As for adds: no one touches these except the tank. That should mean you only have to worry about keeping them off the healer.

I've done this twice now (successfully that is) and one thing I've noticed is that the void wraiths that spawn out of the void zones won't go after you if you're too far away. But when the boss comes back to attack you all the adds will follow him to you.

First group we had ranged guys pick off the adds while we waited for Anomolus to become attackable and/or the tank would charge in a body pull a few adds so that it wasn't 20+ coming with the boss.

Second group was all melee, so we just waited for the boss and adds to run out past the void rifts then we ran in and AoE-ed everything down (WW, Consecrate, FoK, ect).

The last 25% really depends on the healer, but keeping the void wraiths to a minimum seems to help a lot.

Hmm... this seems like it might have been one of our problems after moving him down to the second platform. Thanks for the tip!

Basically clear all trash groups on the lower platform to give yourselves loads of space.

You should blow major cooldowns right at the beginning, this is when you have the most time to dps him down, and they should be ready for the final burn again. When he goes immune move down a platform, and make sure you are the only player taking the chain lightning. When he moves towards you after the 30 second channel you dps until he goe simmune again, run down the slope and rinse-repeat. You should not need more than 4 immunity phases.

either let your dps quickly aoe the 6k hp adds, or instruct them to single target damage only or else you will be needing to actually tank them instead of simply holding them off your healer.
