Argent Tournament Question

Hey champions,

If you become a valiant for another city, are you still able to do the champion's dailies and get those badges? Or are you locked out of them until you finish your new city?

You get the Champion dailies from the main tent on the west side. Then you can stack up the Valiant dailies of the next race you're working on. So you can do both together, but your previously championed race no longer offers quests for extra Valiant marks.

as far as ive seen, once you finish your race's faction the first time, it unlocks the quest to select a new faction, then you start the 25 token quest+dailies. Presumably once that 25 token hand-in quest is done the 'choose another race' quest opens again, making it not possible to do more than one at a time.

makes sense since the dailies are the same and you could in theory grind all the races at the same time if they didn't implement this.

Don't forget to do the argent crusade dailies for the actual token to buy pets/mounts and weapons in the argent crusade tent on the west side!

Also, picking a race faction you may not be exalted with yet makes grinding that rep a LOT easier, since you get rep for turning in the dailies, and opens up that race's vendor sooner so you can hand in those scroll things. i've decided to do the last 2 race's im not exalted with first, so that completes the grind across all 5 faster.

BIG gotcha here - once you complete the valiant-champion quest at 25 marks for each faction you are effectively locked out of the valiant daily rep gains for that faction. While you CAN buy the writs via the Champion quest rewards it is considerably slower than just running the valiant dalies beyond the 25 valiant seals you need for a particular faction. You are also making more money and seals on the Champion quests since you are normally choosing between writs and the coin purse + a possible champ seal with each turn-in.

What I'd love to see is the tabard from each city (available after you achieve champion status and purchased with champion seals) to allow the same sort of level 80 dungeon rep gains by wearing the major city tabards just like the new WotLK faction tabards. In theory you should be half way through revered with each faction after you hit Champion in the tournament so the net bleed of champion seals to purchase the tabard out of the player economy would be similar BUT the mechanic for levelling the rep would be less cumbersome.

Also, if you move on to a new faction that you are exalted with you will gain rep with other city factions that aren't maxed quite yet. The only problems are that you don't have a choice about which it is and it's at a much lower gain.

Once I had opened up the Valiant dailies for Org I started gaining rep with Darkspear because I was already exalted with Org, TB and UC. I hit exalted with Darkspear before getting 25 badges and moving on to SMC.

To answer the OP though, once you've done the quest to become a Champion of your city you get to pick your next city since all the other factions open up to you. If you really wanted to, you could just continue to collect the badges with the one faction you're working on and not move on until you're exalted. Just be sure not to turn in the quest for 25 badges as that finishes the chain for that faction.

Once you're a Champion with all the factions you are no longer able to pick up those dailies and have to rely on the actual Argent Tourney dailies that reward the scripts/coin purse to bump up your rep through that turn in.

Here's a sort of related question. Once you become champion with another faction, do you lose your ability to buy from the previous city's vendor?

I.E. I am stormwind now. If I also become a champion of Exodar, will I still be able to buy from Stormwind, or are you only allowed to buy from one vendor at a time?

You can buy from any of the vendors you've unlocked. I believe the gear's all the same anyway.

That part does change from vendor to vendor - the mounts, pets, and banners/commendation things/tabards. The rest is all the same.

But you can buy everything from any vendor you're a champion with. I'm a champion with Stormwind and Ironforge, and I can buy from either of their Tournament vendors.

Something to note, when you are on your last city, you may want to hold off for a while on getting the last Champion status, i.e turning in your 25 tokens.

Once you are Champion of the Horde/Alliance you can no longer do the 4 Valiant quests so if you want to make easy cash you can just not turn the 25 valiant token in and keep doing them. Also it's good for grinding city rep up if you haven't already got exalted.
