All achievements down, 1 to go. Undying.

3 weeks in a row disconnects have ruined this for us. Week 1 KT, week 2 KT, week 3 Thaddius. The Sunday/Monday before the last reset we can possibly get a plauged proto-drake is going to be extremely dramatic/traumatic depending on which way the disconnect dice rolls.

Its been 3 different people all 3 weeks. At this point the tradeoff is to bringing people outside our most skilled ~12-15 people, whom have worked with us all the way through 'of the Nightfall'.

No way around it. The achievement isnt just all about skill. It is a lot about skill, but its also about luck. That, to my mind, devalues it a little. Not as skillless as checking your egg every week for a green proto drake.... and certainly it's the most nail biting encounter in game because, as you say, the tension is so high. It gives great replayability to content you long since out-farmed.

In any case, they're getting away from this sort of "in one raid lockout" type achievement in Ulduar, based upon this sort of feedback, I'd imagine.

I don't think there is any luck component to it as long as everyone has a decent connection.

I wish Blizzard would have kept the achievement and the title for one lockout but removed it from the Meta.

Very happy to report that after a full month trying this achievement and long since having downed Sarth 3D (10) and 6 Minute Maly (10), Squashed and I completed undying last night!!. We still had some people disconnect (even the ones that had never DC'd before) but none were on bosses, and we required reboots before Thaddius, Haigen and KT. I can't think of the last encounter that had me *that* tense, and whether it was for the right reason or not it was still very enjoyable and a huge relief to know that we didn't get completely robbed.

So, Glory of the raider... CHECK!

Ulduar Patch today... CHECK?!

As to whether Undying is Skill based or luck based... I sacrificed a fish feast as we were pulling KT to appease the DSL gods as one of my guildies put it. 3 weeks, 3 fatal DCs, 2 on KT at or around 50% and 1 on Thaddius.. it took us a month to pull this off and required me asking people to reboot hardware that had nothing to do with wow so for us, this was about 95% luck and 5% skill.
