Loremaster of Kalimdor

I don't know how this is for horde side, but holy crap...alliance side this achievement can be discouraging lol. I am almost there though: 722/730!!!

Any suggestions on some commonly missed quests in Kalimdor?

Holy crapsauce. Good job man!

I cant answer your question, but I would like to know why people are feverishly doing these random acheivements? Especially all the ones with no reward stated? I guess it seems a waste of time to me is all. Im at like 230 points. I refuse to fly all over the freakin world just to get some useless acheivment, haha. Unless it isnt useless! But I dont know that, do you know if this stuff will be rewarded by something?

its so people can show off their epeen. There will be no actual reward to players for doing the achievements but it was a great plan on blizzards part to hook all these fools who just like to show off.

That's kind of mean. I don't really intend on showing it off at all. If anything I will keep using my guardian of cenarious title cause it just sounds better.

I do it cause it is something to complete and I have a slight bit of OCD.

Don't rain on my parade. If anything I try to avoid crowds and publicity on my server. The less people that know me the better. I was just doing it because it was there. It's one way I enjoy the game.

jere there is no reason to defend yourself. If you can manage to get this achievment good for you. If you get the title show it off. especially at first when not to many people have it yet

I have to add to jere's attitude towards the achievements - most of the people I know who are interested in completing them have little to no desire to show off epeen, its simply playing a piece of the game for completenesses sake and it gives them something to do rather than mindlessly farm or run instances day in and day out. I think there are a lot of people enjoying the achievements as a new dimension to the game, even if there is no intrinsic or "real" reward.

Another good reason to do these achievements was because I apparently missed a lot. I never did the scythe of elune quest chain for example and missed out on some neat lore. Shoot, until I started working on this achievement, I would never had guessed that there were two alliance available quests in Durotar or that there was a reason behind those blue statues in Aszhara.

Do any and every quest you can find!

728 of 730 Loremaster of Kalimdor. Currently working on Molten Core quests, tier 0 chain and the ZG + AQ poison quest in the hope that I get the 2 points I need.

Hey,

I completed this two days ago and boy was it a pain, hats off to anyone who attempts it and anyone who completes it. The lighter side can be found The challenge: Loremaster of Kalimdor - TankSpot, But here's a few quests that you may have missed:

Squid Starting areas
- Lots of quests for the stillpine furblogs in Azuremyst, they aren't available at first so keep checking back.
- Random drop of an infected nightsaber runt
- Cruelfin and Mrg.... in Azuremyst and Bloodmyst (names murlocs).
- Stealthed humanoids near the lamp posts on the roads near Stillpine the wont agro you so keep a close eye and walk slowly.
Darkshore
- Goblin up very northern coast
- The beached sea turles (times 9), only becomes active having completed the main chain
- One shot one kill (or something like that) down south east corner
Desolace
- Escort the caravan southwards passes centuars and east passed mannoroc cavern
- escort quest outside Mara
Thousand needles
- Book by bottom of lift
- Loads in shimmering flats, some of which activate very late, I got "get gnomes drunk" when I thought I had finished the zone
Feralas
- Rockbiter (giant up north)
- Missing courier chain that starts from Feralas
- handing in "codex of defense" in DM - best 7g I ever spent
- Spritedancer chain - all count, even those that end in Hinterlands
Durotar
- Golblin by Dustgylch ravine (I think its called) SE of Orgrimmar with a chain of two

Also,
The long quest chain that starts (I think) in Badlands at hero of the horde and eventually gets you to Azshara and the guy with felpuppies on the Island - a fair number of those count.

I did it without tier 0.5, AQ20, or MC quests but I did do one set of centaur quests in desolace and by the time I ended I would have had no idea where to look for any more quests if the DM book hadn't counted.

Best of luck, and don't let anyone who calls you a fool get you down, it is a real achievement and one you can be rightly proud of imo.

Nope they dont, any quest for class, profession or event doesn't count, or if they do it's a bug - they count towards the "Seeker" 3000 quest achievement however.

Finally got it. Oddly enough a quest opens up in the Blue Recluse in SW that counts for Kalimdor credit (it only appears after you help escort this guy in Dustwallow Marsh, so maybe that has something to do with it).

I ended up missing the infected nightstalker runts (2x), the One Shot One kill in Darkshore (1x), the night elf in Zoram Strand (2x), the Rockbiter chain (2x), and the blue recluse (1x) woot.

By the way, who ever designed the quests for alliance in Felwood needs to be drug out into the street and shot lol. I got really tired of re-entering Shadow Hold...

Thanks for all the tips Shorty!

+1 to you. if i get really, really bored..i go find some ach i can knock out.

another good thing about doing some of this stuff is you learn alot about the world as a whole. i know theres plenty of players that dont really know much background on WoW, and doin ach's like exploration, you find alot of areas you never knew existed. when i found a place ive never heard of, i wowwiki'ed it, and would be suprised at what i found.

doin the loremaster ach's puts newer players in a position to experience alot of content that theyve missed (old world raids, etc).

so i dont think its a means for people to show-off. people that strive for "realm first" achievements may fall more into that category, but i think most people dont.

In the next patch, they're dropping the Kalimdor quest count to 700. Right now I'm at 701/730.

From mmo-champion.com:

Achievements changes
  • Loremaster of Kalimdor has been changed from 730 to 700 quests for the Alliance, from 700 to 685 quests for the Horde. It seems that they no longer include Silverpine Forest quests and now take Darnassus, Exodar, and Caverns of Time quests into account.
