Replace Aloft, Omen, and Recount ?

Hi there,

Im a warrior tank and those 3 are must-have to get my job done swiftly. Recently i re-customize my UI so i will have a clearer view on stuffs (im a draenei and big tank isnt good) but those 3 addons consumes too much memory. So my question is are there any lightweight addons to replace those 3 ?

I use Aloft for nameplates while Aoe tanking (adds from Anub); Omen to track threat, and Recount to check my dps abilities/dmg taken etc..

Instead of Omen: sThreatMeter2 : WoWInterface Downloads : Combat Mods

and finally instead of Recount: Skada Damage Meter : WoWInterface Downloads : Data Mods I hope this will help you

Thanks for the list, Buttlern. I havent tried those 3 yet, but I already download them now. Skada seem to have even more options that Recount, I dont know if it 's gonna consume more memory, could you give some numbers on how much it takes while in combat ? Recount usually does 20+MB while in combat, that's insane.

I don't really keep track of my addons mem usage since I dont think it will comprehend my FPS or "lag issues" ingame. You better try them out for yourself.

Why just don't drop Recount or a similiar addon altogether? I suppose looking at your DPS or TPS or whatever is nice, but if you're serious about analysing that stuff your better off with WWS, and the other 24 people in your raid are probably running Recount as well, so no shortage of people who can give you the data.

The best way to reduce memory use is just not having something which eats it.

If your interested in keeping track of your overall DPS (without all the other bells and whistles like damage taken, healing, individual spells) then I like picoDPS. It's extremely lightweight. I use it to judge my overal DPS performance to see how I'm doing compared to others and to compare different equipment/glyphs/gems/specs.

Skada is modular, so you can turn off the modules that track things that you don't ever look at. For example, if you only want to see damage you can turn off everything else and it will only record damage. One thing I love about Skada is the debuff uptimes mode, I'm not sure how accurate it is but it's nice to be able to get a general idea of some of your debuff uptimes like demo shout.

Skada can also track threat. I don't use the threat portion of it though. >.>
